Alright guys, so my first grow is under way. I'm going to start a journal here to keep everyone updated and get some help because I'm sure I will need it.

First, I am growing in a closet that is in my garage, I have a 400W HPS and I am growing in the Stealth Hydro setup. I purchased some G13 labs feminized Diesel seeds and got a free G13 power gold seed also feminized with it. Ordered from Attitude seed bank (Awesome turn around time.)

Currently, I have started the seeds directly into the rockwool and they are in the system with the lights off. I planted them on Saturday night so its been about 2 days so far. I will get pictures soon but it is completely dark in there now so I gotta wait.

I'm am very open to suggestions and any comments anyone has so please stick around and help me out. I can't wait for these lil girls to sprout. Stay tuned and enjoy.

AHH!! This waiting is killing me..I checked this morning and 2 of the beans have sprouted out from the rockwool so far. Am I supposed to wait until all of them sprout before I turn the lights on or a majority? Thanks guys. Glad to see a few will be following this.

So here are a few pics of my setup. 2 seeds have finally sprouted. I turned the lights on to 24/0. I have some mylar on the way so that I can save some of the lost light. Temp has been staying in the low to mid 70's. I will keep you updated. Suggestions and comments always welcome.

So it's day 2 since I turned the lights on. The 2 girls that have sprouted are looking great. Still nothing from the 4 others. I covered the rockwool so that the seed was not getting any of the light. I just added a temp/humidity reader so once it's in there a while, ill be able to get the humidity. The temp is a little high though. It has hit 80.

I added a fan but is there anything I should do to lower the temp at all? Add another fan? Also, I'm planning on lowering the light a lil bit since it is a few feet away from the seeds currently. Pics coming soon.

Thanks Roseman. So it looks like another girl is starting to sprout. She popped her head out of the rockwool and I removed the cover to let her get some light. Pics will be coming soon.

Not sure if you saw my post in the other thread but I was wondering about nutes. Since I dont have the SH nutes, should I a)order them from SH and wait.. B)just go to my local hydro store and pick up fox farms or another brand or.. C)Pick up another brand from the store and still order the SH and use them for flowering? Thanks for the help guys.

2 of the girls are looking great. Looks like they have a real long root dipping into the water already. Another girl sprouted a day or 2 ago.

As of today, I added mylar in my entire room to save a little light that was being lost. I also added mylar on the top of the tub. Is this a bad idea? Added 1/4 nutes of fox farm grow big today as well. PH is looking like it is around 6 but its hard to tell with my tester. I don't have a digital tester which is next on my list to get. Temp is right at 80 and has stayed there. Humidity is right around 30%. I added some cups of water around the room so hopefully that will help.

So far, it seems that all is going well. I will post pics later today.

Since you're using a 400W bulb, keep it at least 12" above the sprouts so they don't get burnt. Mylar is OK for using on top of your lid, but light will still get through. If you can rap the mylar in cardboard and then lay it on top of your lid would be better. With the six planter, I took 3 piece of cardboard(one for each side & one down in between the rows) and cut notches to go around the base/stem, blocking any light from penetrating through the hydro rocks. Also the seedlings like higher humidity.
Do you have an exhaust fan blowing out the top side of your cabinet?
At your stage/phase it's important to keep your light high enough not to burn your plants, keep the pH around 5.8 to 6.0, exhaust the heat from your cabinet and have a small 6" oscillating fan blowing gently over the TOPS of the plants.
Oh yea, we were talking about ordering online & receiving packages via UPS/FedEx/USPS; I just wanted to mention that 99% of those who ship, ship very discreetly. In other words, they don't plaster the outside of the shiping box with, "Hey, your hydro supplies are inside!!"
Peace bro!!

You might hang a soaking wet towel on a nail in front of a fan to improve humidity. Also, MIST the babies with plain water or foilage spray daily, even twice a day .

Thanks guys. So with my grow room, I am not able to really drill into it or instal anything into the walls. Since I added the mylar the temp has raised to about 82 or 83. I am going to get another fan today but im not sure what else I can do to cool it down. It's also hard to keep the humidity up because I have to leave the door to my room open just a little bit because if not, it gets up to 90 degrees.

You're growing in a closet in your garage, right? Is this your home or are you renting? The reason why I'm asking is because you could go to your local hdwr store and buy a pair dryer vent set-ups(like in the photo) and place one through the top of your door(exhaust) and one towards the bottom for intake or just trim an 1 1/2" off the bottom of the door for more passive air intake. If you don't want to trim off the bottom of the door, you'll need two of these dryer vent set-ups on the bottom of your door to get enough passive air flow.

And the replacement doors are fairly cheap if down the road you move and want to replace it.

Just a thought!

Alright so taking pics in my room is extremely hard. The HPS light makes my camera freak out. So I appologize for the bad pics.

Anyway, the girls are looking good. Looks like I will only be having 3 plants, the other 3 still havent sprouted.

Temp in my room has been high ever since I added the mylar. It's been in the mid 80's. I forgot that I had a humidifier in my closet, so I added that into the room and got my humidity into the mid 30's. I can't tell if my plants are stretching at all. Light is just under 24 inches. Im not sure how close an HPS can be. I added another fan that is blowing air out of the room.

Here are a few pics.

Bluey, I noticed in your journal that you said you had a problem with putting a fan on the seedlings. Should I remove the fan that is blowing on them now? What kind of problems did you have?
