:leaf:Hey Everyone:leaf:

I have dabbled :leaf:in outdoor growing a bit, had a failed indoor crop because of mites, waited years now it's time to grow a good crop indoors :-o:-o

I have about 38 clones that were well rooted about a week and a half ago. I am using hp soiless mix. They are now planted in 3 gallon pots and just finished hardening off and have started vegatative growth. I have a 9.5 x 10.5 x 7.5 feet high room lined with black and white poly. I setup a hole in the floor with an 8inch vortex laying in it with ducting going to a carbon filter in the adjacent corner. To the fan I have a speed controller, one that checks temp and raises or lowers the speed to keep an even temp of 70-75 during light and 65-70 during dark. The room runs a passive 6 inch fresh air intake pointed at an oscillating fan blowing on the plants evenly.

I am using 3 part GH flora food, and diamond nectar(fulvic replace.) liquid karma, grozyme and kool bloom for flowering near the end. I keep all my food bubbling over a period of at least 12 hours in a large resevoir.

I am using 4 1000 watt setup with 2 hps, 2 mh to reproduce an even nature-like spectrum. I started using just one of the mh's for the beginning and the babies reacted poorly to the intense light, even being 5 feet away so I switched to a 400 mh for vegging. How far do you think I can veg with just the 400? All the way to 14-16 inches? Thats when I plan on inducing flowering.

My clones are starting to take off and are looking mostly healthy...some look weak and are kinda drying and curling from the light, I hope it's just because a few got planted late and they just need time to adjust... I dunno *fingers crossed* They are between 2-4 inches now.

It's okay if a max of 6 die or screw up because i am striving for 8 plants per 1000 watt. I have *high* hopes for my first crop as I think I am doing everything mostly correct, please I mean please tell me different if you've seen anything I can improve on, I will get some pics of the room and plants up very soon, I just lost my GD data cord for my camera :( Pics within 5 days I promise :weed:

shit still no cord... plants are looking excellent with improved health, colour and growth. They are still under the 400 watt. I gotta get them under the 1000 watt Mh soon! They are reacting great to the feedings and I have seemed to perfect my PH levels for optimal health. I will have pics up soon as i can of my pretty kush beauties ~C IAO FO' NOW

Great setup, very similar to mine except for the mh/hps light switching your doing. If the plants are dry and curling UP they are getting a little light burn. I vegged my current crop in my grow journal (see signature) using 1000w lamps (and still am, about ready to flower in about another week). My goal is 9 plants per 1kw lamp (3 rows of 3) which is what I have now. The extra few plants are just for mommies or throwaways.

So with your vegging, always veg 20% of the light you flower with. If you plan to flower 8 weeks at 1kW lamp (720kWh of power total for flowering), you'll want to veg for 144kWh of light. When figuring the math, always remember that vegging you go 18 hours, not 12, so the math changes. In your example, we veg for an extra 6 hours, equaling 150% of the daylight time. Fun part: 1kw lamp = 360kWh / month * .40 for your 400 watter, * 1.5 for the 18 hour veg cycle gives you 216kWh of light per month, or 7.2kWh per day. 144 kWh of veg time required under 7.2kWh of light = a 20 day veg period for a 60 day flower period under a 1kW light and a 400w veg light.

Hope this helps?

ya I don't need to get quite that technical with the lighting, I just overdid the worrying about it, I get it now, Ill veg with a 1/4 to a 1/5 of light an use MH for veg and HPS for flowering, I think I will get rid of 1 of my mh's and get 2 more hps and do a small seperate room with the 1000 watt mh for veg and 4 hps for flowering i trust that more than the 2 and 2 i have now. Thanks for the post Kitty and I'll get some pics up soon to check out :)

wasup, I have now switched to my 1000 watt MH for vegetative growth as of yesterday. I've been keeping it about 36 inches or more from the 6 inch plants and they seem to be thriving. My ph is balanced at 6.5 my temps are 70 during light and 60ish during dark. My 3 part GH micro, grow and bloom seem to be meeting the nutrient requirements as well as the liquid karma, diamond nectar and grozyme I use at feedings. They are getting enough fresh air and my large inline is keeping the room cleared of heat and stale air.

The only problem is growth has been sortof slow in the very beginning so I think they should be a bit bigger by now but growth speed has picked up in the last week and they are doing alot better now. I plan on another 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to finish vegging then begin flowering with all 4000 watts ( 2 mh x 2 hps ) The only thing I don't monitor closely is the humidity but it seems fine for now, I will get a hygrometer in the near future. Thanks for checking in on my first real grow and I have pics to put up finally, any comments, questions or suggestions are very welcome!

CHEERZ Y'ALL :)

the day I got my clones

my room shortly after setup

my plants after 1 week

the plants currently...it's been about 2 weeks since they rooted fully, how does growth look?

ok theres some pics for now, I will post more in a week or two before flowering

OG KUSH is all that is in this grow.

bc i tried to catch you in the chat but was high and slow!
looks nice, can you get the scrubber up high and over the lights so its pulling warm air out at the same time shortening the length of duct?

Heya man, no Im in a mobile with a real flimsy roof and I've tried to hang it high with heavy duty hooks but I think no matter what it's too sketchy and I'd be too nervous all the time for it's possibility of falling. I brainstormed that idea and I think it's all I can get away with for now. I will be in a different location for next grow so I can mount it properly, but not for a few months. Thanks for the question, I know it's hoaky but you know... whattya do ttyl man :eyesmoke:

another question... I am doing a feed, flush, feed, flush schedule. I've been told to still use 15 ml of grozyme/ gal and some liquid karma even when I do the flush part. In my mind I feel like I should be just straight flushing them? Is there conflicting beliefs in this or is the one proper way?

these are my nutrients for now

this is a problem I've had seems to balance itself out now, my friend said it was PH or something to do with my feeding... not sure

Dude growzyme is expensive if nothing else just straight water maybe molasses on the flushes will suffice just fine at 15ml every other feed ull be able to re use that soil no problem lol. I use sensizyme and only every 3rd water (feedand enzyme water water, repeat) and I have had no ill effects reusing my soil afterward and the plants are plenty vigorous and happy with it. All that aside, man u stopped in my thre like "pssh ur a mad scientist! btw I got a little closet grow going" u didn't tell me u were goin off like a pimp lol. Balanced spectrum 4kwatts straight baller man. I'm pullin a seat for this one looks good so far. Ill go catch up now and see if I missed any ?'S I can help with. +rep for goin at it like a man 1st go about

Dude you made my DAY with these posts!!! thx for the compliments! I figure it this way, go big or just GO HOME lol I know a bit about growing over the years and I decided to crop out phatty-like with my first real grow, no expenses spared. I went to my buddy at the local hydroponics store and his boss told me feed, flush with 'zyme, feed, pure water flush, i'll try that. so you think it's kosher to re-use my HP soilless promix? Good as I was just gonna dump everything and start with new shit for my next grow. The boys at the store set me up for the "balanced spectrum deal" saying that the pros do it this way and I will have potent ass buds, we will see eh?

I have about 2 weeks left for vegetative then it's flowering time, I have only 7.5 feet of height minus pot height + refelector height + safe distance so I don't want 5 footers, maybe 3 1/2 to 4 max. I figure if i begin budding at 16 or so inches I'll make height, but who the fuck know eh? lol.

The same buddy at the hdro store uses Co2 pucks in a small dish in his 4 x 4 x 8 foot high tent. I don't have any dough left ATM so I may follow his method, it's chaep, but I wonder how effective. It may be like owning a harley with training wheels eh? lol. Any advice is mucho~ appreciated, thanks again for the props, link me any project you got going and I'm there. ~ciao for now :)

what is this issue caused by? some leaves are also a lil' curly and a little dry looking, only fan leaves(see below photo), just a few though most are glowing with health

here is how they look currently

currently the 1000 watt MH light is around 24 inches away, temp is 70 degrees 60 at dark. Oscillating fan is contantly sweeping them with cool fresh air.Although these days I have a fear of bugs, especially mites. I'm just waiting for them to try something... I've battled bugs once before and lost miserably. I may need help with pest control advice.

Looks like a few may be starting to burn. Check ur ph if its cool back off the nutes just a touch on those few for a couple feeds. Flush them out and put them back on schedule. Or elimante the weak muahahaha. Otherwise they look healthy. I'd say if what ur doing is working and your happy, YOU, are happy. Keep at it unless the plants say otherwise. Got that rep comin to ya sorry about the flake yesterday got busy lol. There's a link to my grow in my signature plenty of seats open love to have ya drop in. Keep it green :joint:

I just woke up and checked, they are on hour 18 of the lighting sced. they go into 6 hour dark within 30 mintues yet they look droopy for the first time ever, except darktime they droop a lil, not this much. Usually they are perky as heck, not today though. I dont think its overwatering but it could be, i recently started watering them a bit more. Otherwise I'm gonna lay off watering for another full light cycyle and see what happens. I BE JUSTA VEGGIN' :) No worries Sensai... I don't even know how to give rep mang, tell me hehe ;) So you mean nutrient burn then huh. Ok I'll chill on it a bit and see what comes, thanks again!

Here is a pic of the drooping I just woke up too... I aint worried though :)

ok as per some info I got on lumens per sq. foot i have decided to light up both of my 1000 watt metal halides, instead of just the one. I have 17 soon to be 16 under each they are around 6 inches tall. Honestly are they now gonna be getting lumen overload or will growth speed up and peak out without any damage ( i dont wanna find out the hard way, okay?) lol. As you can see by this pick of my extra light now added, the lights are around 2 1/2 feet from tops. They have wilted a little for the first time, as you can see, but I also just started watering them a lil bit more often too. Im going to let them thoroughly dry now for another day or two up hope they "spike" right back up to previous condition.
