First Grow - Sugar Blossom / Rubbermaid CFL

Looking good man. You need some more light on the lower parts of the plants though.
Thanks man, nobody was commenting so I wasn't sure.

I just took a look at your setup with the power strip place in the middle of the rubbermaid bins. Having lights all around would be ideal, but at this point my plants are all touching the sides of the bin. The only concern I have with doing this type of thing is the plants getting too close and burning.

I haven't had much luck with that this grow, having burnt A and almost killing him and then burning the top half inch or so of C's main cola. People say you can get an inch from CFL's but I have found that hasn't been the case in my grow. I would keep a watch on your plants as they start to get close to the lights.....but maybe your fan cools the bin better than mine just be careful I guess:joint::joint::joint::joint:

Things are still going along good, no major changes today. Depending on how this grow ends up I may or may not start growing again right away. If it yields an ounce or more I will be super happy and that would last me a pretty long time. Do you guys think that would be possible looking at my plants with like 4-5 more weeks of flowering?

Anyways, I am trying to decide between doing my next grow in the rubbermaids I posted on the first page, or buying like a $100 pantry cabinet from walmart and having two separate grow areas in the cabinet. I figure to do the rubbermaid all I need is paint, and the cabinet would probably run me like $150 to get up and running. In all reality I don't really need a perpetual harvest of a plant a month because I only smoke like a gram or 2 a week, so an ounce might last me from 5-6 months.

The cabinet however offers the advantage of being able to just open the doors and work easily with my plants, whereas the rubbermaid is getting really frign annoying, too much moving stuff around just to take a plant out to water.

That was a long ramble....that maaay be because I am a tad bit blazed :-P

Later days

Man I feel your pain on taking the plant out it is such a bitch and I don't even have the lights hanging from up top. I have plans to turn one of my old dressers into a cab here shortly I just gotta wait till I get paid again. I'm going to take all the drawers out, but keep the front of the drawers where they slid in. Superglue the front pieces to the dresser and then cut a door in the side or back of it to access the plants. Also have intake and exhaust fans on the top and bottom. I still gotta pick up some good pc fans but money is a little on the tight side right now. I might just use my big fan till I can get the pc fans. The only problem is its really loud I might have to build a box just for the fan and the ducting lol.

You only smoke a gram or 2 a week? Man I smoke like a half ounce a week. I have been smoking for a good long while too so maybe thats why lol. Anyways I hope your ladies are doing great.

Day 44 from 12/12, Start of Week 7. I think I have 3 weeks left to finish my ladies.

I am starting to get impatient....

I watered tonight (Decided to go half nutes to give the ladies a little break), and it took like ten minutes to break down the setup to get the plants out and then the put it back together. I am definitely switching to a cabinet for my next grow, too much effort just to check my plants.

Things are looking good in my opinion. The only issue I may have seems to be with Plant D, the tips have some brown spots. I included a pic. Plant C has 11 colas, all at around the same height. So even if they end up being 2 grams each, thats like 22 grams, not too bad. D is looking good, just the main cola and its starting to fill out a bit now.

Okay here is a comparison from 31 to 44 days. D has filled out nicely so far.

Next up are a few pics of D's cola. In the last can you see how the tips went a bit brown? I'm going to keep a close eye in case its mold of something like that.

Here is both of the girls,:

And some of C's colas:

And one with D is the distance:

Ya man ten weeks sounds good. Do you have a scope? I'd pick one up and check the trichs to REALLY know when to cut them down. Other than that man I can't wait till I get to that stage cause they are looking beautiful.

I am definitely going to pick one up some time this week. I might try harvest some when the trichomes are like a 80/20 split of cloudy to amber and then a 20/80 split of cloudy to amber. My next grow will be sugar blossom again so if I try harvesting at different times I'll know when to harvest for the next one.

Here is the best close-up I could get of the brown spots on D. Any ideas?

That sounds like a good idea man. I think I'm gonna do this on one of my plants to know what I really like better.

That looks really minor bro. Your so close to harvest date right now I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong. Unless it gets eaten by an animal or something lol.

Day 48 from 12/12:

No big changes to report, C is started to really fill out its buds now, so thats a big plus. So I have like 2 and half weeks left I guess. Went to couple places but couldn't find a microscope. I think I found a place that I'll hit up this weekend to get the scope.

I think for the next two waterings I'll add some blackstrap mollasses, and then I'll have probably two waterings left where I'll flush both times. Does that sound good to anyone with experience?

I have to say smell has not been an issue at all with these plants (I haven't bothered with my "carbon filter" because of this). I don't have the greatest sense of smell in the world, but I have to literally hold the plants up and take a wiff to smell anything (They have like a slight citrus skunk smell). I read about people's plants stinking up their whole house without filters. Does this mean anything? Or is it just the breed?

Alrighty here's some pics:

Looking good as usual bro. Its a good thing they don't smell man. My three ladies don't even have buds yet and if I'm not running my oil burner on top of the dresser you can smell it when you walk into my room. The closet is in the back of a pretty good sized master bedroom. I am going to be adding a second filter on my dresser when I get paid again so I don't have to keep buying scented oil shit lol. Although I do like smelling the apple cinnamin.

Haven't been able to check on the ladies for the past three days due to some house guests that were constantly around.

They are looking good. I noticed a big change from last time I checked. C is filling out nicely now, and D is fattening up its main cola. I am hoping for a nice little stash if things continue like this for the next week.

Day 57 of 12/12

1 more week! Fuck yeah :hump: no pics again but hopefully in the next couple of days. Things are looking good, D is nice and fat I'd say like maybe 3-4 inch diameter cola. C's tops are are all around 1.5 inch diameter but have now filled about 4 inches of length. It's getting pretty hard to wait, but I've made it this far so whats another week.

I was super paranoid last night night, I heard something outside that sounded like a helicopter, and was like, nah you're high - it's probably just a car or something. I took a look and yep, helicopter. And then like 3 minutes later my dog goes nuts and runs to the front door and starts barking. I was like oh fuck this is not good. Turned out nothing was there but man I was seriously thinking about chopping the ladies down.

In growing news - Did a flush last night and stopped all nutes. I gave like 3 to 4 times the size of the plant's container of water. I guess that is how its done. I've heard that if you use chemical ferts you need to do this or the final product is harsh. So one more flush middle of next week and then I am going to go with 48 hours of darkness before harvesting.

Still couldn't find a scope. Went to like 5 stores ad nothing. Probably too late to order one from the internet. I am going to try to get a close pic with my camera and see what I can see. Next weekend will be 64 days so that will be 9 weeks. Some of the pistils are starting to brown( like 5-10%) so I figure the girls are maturing.

Bro let her go for two more weeks. And I now the feeling of the paranoia. My first time the last two weeks was COMPLETE FUCKING HELL everytime the chopper flew over the house I got nervous. But in all reality if you have a chopper getting heat signatures then they have already caught on to you and have been for A LONG TIME. With cfls we especially don't have to worry bro smoke a blizzy and forget about it. Let em go for another two weeks. Wait a week after pretty much all hairs have turned red trust me.

DAY 59 SINCE 12/12

I now have a dehumidifier in the room with the plants so that should help with resin production. I also am letting the temps drop a bit more in the lights off period. I figure this might signal to the ladies that winter is almost here and its time to bulk up.

Here are some pics:

Plant D showing 44 to 48 and now 59

Here is a comparison shot of C and D from 48 to 59 days:

And here are the rest of the day 59's pics:

Thanks greenfire, I had them out 2 nights ago to do another flush and they were looking awesome. So awesome I had to cut a little bud off to see what the smoke was like. I dried for two days and had a little bowl a 20 minutes ago :bongsmilie: (still somewhat moist and smelled like fresh hay). I am pretty ripped right now, it started off as a happy energic high and now has settled into a stooooned high :eyesmoke:

DAY 63 FROM 12/12
It was a week before I noticed anything in C and probably 10 days before I noticed a hairs on D. So I guess that would put C at 8 weeks on the nose and D and 53 days (8 weeks on the weekend). I am pretty happy with smoke from day 59 so it can only get better. I think 2 more days and I will be chopping.

Pics tomorrow to get other people's opinion on how ready they look.

Bro promise me you won't smoke anymore of bud till its fully cured...... I promise you a full dry/cure will multiply the high X10 I swear. My last harvest I did a test. I saved four buds one for each jar and kept each one a week longer than the first. The last jar was 10 times better than the first. The key in this game is being patient. Which is a trait I need to learn and I guess this is way Im doing this. I rush everything but with this NEVER again. Next harvest I'm not touching till the buds have been in the glass jars for ATLEAST a month.

This is my first time growing so its been pretty hard to keep patient. I'm not taking any more before its ready...... :weed:other then this little bud from plant D. The first one was from C so I was curious about D's smoke. Here is a pic of the size I've taken from D, nothing too big.

Well in terms of the bud being ready to chop today. I feel I should leave it for one more week. The lower buds look ready but the top colas still have all white hairs. I was pumped to go ahead later today, but if I've made it this far I don't want to ruin it by going a week early. Here's a bunch of pics, any comment on whether I should wait another week? ( I am going away from May 2nd to the 10th, so I want to make sure the bud is dry enough to cure without fear of mold). Its hard to see any of C's colas due to being so bushy...I tried to pull one out a bit for one of the pics.
