First Grow Suggestions on set up

I am currently working with a 24" by 26" grow space, my closet, that is about 5'6" tall. I am currently growing a plant that is flowing under 2 23watt fluorescent bulbs and moving it into sunlight a couple hours a day when it comes through the window. As you probably have guessed its not the greatest plant but I am looking to grow my next one with some new equipment.

I have humbolt liquid organics nutrients I got from hempcon. I would like to grow two plants in soil, maybe three. What light set up do you suggest? I would like to be energy efficient and cost efficient all together. I was thinking of doing compact fluorescents in my closet but I also looked at a 400watt hps and mh grow light on amazon for $150 dollars.

I have been doing a lot of research but I am still having trouble deciding. Any help is appreciated.

If you can deal with the heat, go with the hps, as for your grow area a 400 watt "if vented with proper exhaust fan" could produce some monster buds for you!! For a 2x2 area you could get away with a 250watt hps and still get awesome results and it would be a little easier to cool. I'd also look into getting a cool tube which will also help with heat and you will be able to put the light closer without burning the buds.

Oh and if your not to far into flowering on that other plant, grab a couple more 2700k cfl's from the store and get her some more light! Then you could use the cfl's later for cloning.

thank you I just started budding not long ago so I am going to grab a couple more 2700k cfl's i found them for 23watts they were only 97 cents at wal mart

i was also wondering what if I got a 150 watt hps and maybe 4 23 watt cfl 2700k lights? do you think that would be enough light for 2 plants in my closet?
