first grow using cfls

hey this is my first grow im using 3 60 watt day light cfls for veg. like i said this is my first grow and so id appreciate any tips you can give. im currently using soil but im working on a home made hydroponic system i should have that ready within the week ill keep u posted. also this plant is 2 in a half weeks old. i know they should be much bigger but i didnt have enough lighting for about 2 weeks and i just got the cfls in about 4 days ago and its looking good i also lowered the lights because there quite tall but barley any leafs.

you have a lot of streching. to help fix that add soil to the top of the pot keep your light about 1-2 inches from your plant

yeah i have the lights about 1 inch away from the plant but i have it in between 2 lights insted of directly under 1 figured it get more light that way. and thanks i added more soil also the first 2 leafs on the bottom are a darker green then the newly sprouters and kind of wilted what would be the problem there if there is one? another thing is that the sprouters are kind of twisted at the end could this be because my plant was close to death before i got the cfls? if theres a reason why there twisted id appreciate it if someone could tell me why thanks.

heres my plant now its looking alot beter its growing very quickly! although one of the leafs is still twisted twords the end of it you can tell on the second and third pic

alright im having some trouble now one of the lower leafs has brown spots all over it and seems to be dying anyone know what could cause this?

is it the leave thats on the bottom of the plant if it is its the coyleton which is the first set of leaves a seedling put out it is normal for them to sie in the veg period dont put it off it will fall off by itself looks great so far hopefully you can get your hydro setup thats will benefit you tons again looks good dont worry about the bottom leaf

at this stage make sure you dont under or over water!!!

i also reccomend gettind a fan to blow at the stem to streghten it

thanks dude and no its not the first set of leafs its the second set only on one leaf tho but i started noticing it happening on a different leaf. and yeah i have a little fan for the job but im going to get a new one its just a little desk fan not too strong im guna post some pics tmrw so u can see what im talking about

so it the actuall leaf set this may also be cause your plant looks light its really focusing on new growth becase you seed sprout set of leaves is dark and you new growth is very light green

well heres my plant now i havnt rly been keeping track of how old it is u can kinda see the brown spots on the lower set of leafs and some of the leafs are kind of wilting. my camera kind of sucks so u cant tell too well

what kind of soil are you using? I hope you added perlite and dolomite lime. Two essentials if you ask me.

just some soil i had i didnt rly stress to much on the soil because im just guna get my hydro set up didnt feel like wasting money on something im not going to use in a couple of weeks. no i didnt im a beginner :s

im thinking about investing in an aerogrow anyone know what i can expect from one? in terms of yeild and the bud quality?
