Title pretty much says it all. Right now I have 5 seedlings that were put into a growing medium 3 days ago. I am using a plastic storage cabinet (that you would keep gardening tools or the like in) from home depot kinda last minute it'll do for the time being, as will the foil til i get some mylar or something of the like.

I had some extra money and found some one selling UFOs for pretty cheap. Got myself one for $180 and it arrived 3 days later. I was really surprised by how bright it actually is. I know that LED technology is still flawed and has a long way to come but i decided to get one for shits n giggles. I am not basing my little op around it, I understand that there are light intensity issues that come into play in later stages of growth however it is to my believing that it will at least sustain growth during seedling and vegetative stages. My roommate has a 400 watt hps with a nice ballast that he'll lend me when the time comes. Until then, you can't beat 90 watts and the low heat emission.

I am not completely new to growing, just never actually done it myself. I have owned a copy of Jorge Cervantes Grower's Bible for a while and have flipped thru it pretty regularly whenever I've had a minute. It got me interested on hydroponic so i decided to throw a little one gallon reservoir together using some plastic tubing, a fish tank pump, a couple bubble stones all in a small plastic bin. I mixed some soil my roommate suggested with a pinch of bone meal with a pinch of nitrogen (to strengthen the chance of females?) for 2 seedlings and put the other 2 in the res. I have one seedling chillin in some roc wool for the moment.

The res is clear which i understand is a no-no but i feel like that is to keep it from getting too warm which hasn't been an issue with UFO, but correct me if I am wrong.

Anyways, here are some pics

Day 5 of the grow. Plants seem to be coming along nicely. DWC plants seem to be growing quite a bit faster. I think tomorrow I am going to get a much larger rubbermate storage thing and make a new res.

I have been refilling the res with ph balanced water without nutrients and its gotten very cloudy as of recently. Is this bad?

I have began lining the inside of the box with reflective tape. So far only the roof and the doors have been covered. Would it be unwise to line the remaining walls? The reason i ask is because i am concerned with creating "heat spots" or whatever once i bust out a more powerful bulb.

Some leaves have developed slight yellow colors. I feel like this is because i have nutes in the res already. The bottle recommended 1/2 tbsp. and i did about half of that.

Things seem to be going well for the most part. A friend suggested a slight deficiency in one plant and slight over hydration in both dwc plants. Any suggestions how to combat that, more bubbles maybe?
I've been lettin the two in cups spend days in the backyard, weather permitting. I bring em back in before the sun sets, they seem to be doing fine, no discolorations in the foliage however they aren't growing nearly as fast as the other two.
I've upgraded the reservoir and have kept the plants fed with flora nova grow, 1 tsp/1 gal. More lights on the way, couldn't possibly be taking any longer. Ufo was fun for a bit but was ultimately a waste. I don't doubt that I'll be able to find something creative for it in the future though.

Things are lookin good. Increased the nutes to an even 650 ppm now that the little ones in the back have caught up a bit. They have responded well, gettin pretty bushy. I also replaced the 20 gph air pump with a 60 gph. I feel like I am about ready to top the two large dwc plants for two colas.
The two soil plants have received their first bends. I am planning on getting them into large pots here soon.
I have taken clones of the bushier dwc plant(on the right), I will probably take some from the one other tomorrow.
The clones have been cut for a little over two days and are still looking pretty good. They are being kept moist with 5 ph water.

And now for some pictures..

Things are going pretty smoothly. Added 2 dual spectrum cfls and set the lights to 18/6 with hopes that they develop some pre-flowers.
