First Grow (yellow leaves)

I have some plants that are about 10 inches tall and some leaves are turning yellow. Is this a lack of light or could it be nutrient burns. They were fed miracle grow over a week ago and are just showing the yellow the last few days. Its my first grow.

It could be that your overwatering but then because your using MG it could be nute burn. Just watch it. :)

yah miracle grow is not all that great for mary,it has a lot of slow release nitrogen, that if you feed with it every watering could get concentrated in your soil and start getting toxic to your plants,i would recommend checking your soil for toxic ph levels, flush and get some better ferts, the n in that is really high, too much nitrogen can cause a lockout, and cause probs too.

I usually water with the nutes every ten days. so twice so far. what do you mean by lockout? also how do you flush properly?

Under many circumstances whether it be environmental, ph, or nutrient related a plant will lockout, not uptake a certain nutrient,i think 9 out of 10 times someone has a problem it is ph caused,i would invest in a ph test kit and test the water you have been giving them and the soil, you probably just have a ph problem, flushing is just watering with 3 times the water as volume of your medium so 3 gallons to a one gallon pot with ph balanced water,it will clear up some residual salts that miricle grow leaves in the soil that may become toxic

Whoa whoa whoa, Hold your horses. Yellowing leaves is NOT a sign of Nitro def. It's a sign of overwatering or nute burn. Purple stem is a sign of Nitro def. Anywho your just overwatering your plants. Just relax your babies will grow use MG every other watering and you should do fine. DO NOT FLUSH. unless your plant has a REAL problem. Oh and if you HAVE to flush dont kill your plant by doing that. Just water your plants until you see the water coming out the bottom. And then water normally for the next two and your plants will be happy. :)

i was having a major problem with my babies, the lower leaves were drying up and died off, and all the plants were almost neon green. i started applying nutes, then the leaves turned lush green the next day. i think yellowing can be a sign of deficiency, how often should i water though? my babies are like 4-5inches tall..pots are arnd 25cm wide and arnd 25cm tall.
peace

purple is a sign of nitrogen def, lolol,or not, purple usually is normal,or your plant is in a slightly cold environment, flushing isnt the best for your plants no,it is overwatering, but if the salt levels in your soil are toxic then its a quick fix flushing old salts out of the soil,i would recommend finding your nearest gardenor hydro center, they can help youlocate a good formula for your soil plants
