it might help if you have the closet dimensions, how many plants youd like to grow, and your budget

There is so much you need to research here in this site. First of all how much di you have to spend?

Best bet would be to read the stuff already in the newbie section or buy a book...then come back just to clarify the stuff you've read.

Just to clarify, Im not being a prick saying this, just i believe its better to read the basics yourself, try a grow, ask questions and then fix your mistakes (because we ALL make them at first!). The most important thing you can do tho is enjoy yourself man, I enjoy growing as much as I do smoking at this stage!

Closet is 8ft high by 4ft wide 3ft deep and 2 plants if possible and I have 500 to spend
if it were my closet id get a 250 hps fixture and a can fan, research into conversion bulbs so you can veg and flower successfully with one fixture. with some nutes and your growing medium you should still be in your budget. good luck with growing, and dont get discouraged

It'll run you more than $500, but check out my first grow journal (link is in my sig). It's done in a closet of similar size. Harrekin is right though. Read, read, read. There is so much knowledge in these forums and while it can be a pain to sort it all out, its worth it in the long run. There's a few good books on the subject too.

But it all comes down to experimentation. I'll tell you one great hint. As long as you follow the basics, you can't fail. You can make some pretty big mistakes and so long as you're on top of it and catch it early, these things rebound like crazy. The biggest mistake you can make is not trying.

Good luck, happy growing!
