First Grows Equipment

I got a 2ftx3ftx5ft tent with a 4inch inline fan for intake of fresh air and a 6 inch inline fan for exhaust. I have two 240 watt led panels that I though I'd use one to start and add the second when I start flowering. Is this a good idea or use both from the beginning? I have cables that lower and retract to change height of lights but in my 5 foot tent I can get 3 feet from the floor. Is this close enough? Do I need anything else to get started? Any input would help. Thanks.

That seems like more than enough ventilation, you could probably get away with either alone with a passive intake. I've never used led lightts before but it's my understanding they put off almost no heat. In the beginning I'd drop the lights as low as they go, and raise the plants up as close to the lights as you can. Use as many lighs as it takes to cover everything. Veg til the plants are about 1/3 of total height available.

My goal with the fans was to keep a steady supply of co2 in the tent. It seems like the air in there gets stuffy and stale. The lights don't put off much heat at all

You didn't mention an air filter?

I don't have one yet. Thought I'd be ok on a filter til the start flowering and stinking

Possibly possibly not. They can smell fairly strong even early on in veg, just depends.

That filter on your post that u have a link to is that what u use? U like it?

Yup, works good. You should be able to clear your grow cab / room out once ever 5 minutes. If you do your math you can figure out what CFM you will want.

Shit if room is 2x3x5 that's 30cf. If I remember right my intake is 80cfm and exhaust is 125cfm what size would I want or need? I thought that filter said 310cfm is it too big my fans to small

A bigger matching fan would be better. Some people say slower speeds and filter butter but I believe the technology part says faster, as it "slams" the air particles into the carbon, which makes some sense to me.

I can tell you that 4'x2'x4' the combo in my sig works well. Also consider that you are going to have smell in the room you open up into until you close the tent and allow it to suck in that air from the room and filter it. So a bigger combo will filter that more quickly.

maybe i might of missed it, but i still havent been able to tell if ur grow is gonna be soil or hydroponics ? id assume soil since no mention of hydroponic equipment

It is soil. Maybe hydro in the future if I am successful
