First hydro grow need help

Ok guy so i just started my first grow, i have about 6 clones that are about 3 weeks old. My friend is going to get me another 10 clones and i want to try hydro out. Im thinking about going down to the local harware store and picking up some 5 gallon buckets. Would that be the right size for Nother Lights? Ive been reading but havent gotten a solid answer about how much nutrients to use. Ive seen some people say use a third of what the bottle recomends and also a half of what it recomends to use since the roots are always in water. Do i keep a reservoir of the pre mixed nutrients and water and add ass it goes until i need restart again? Im about to order a tds,ph,and temperature meter along with GH micro and bloom, and some rockwhool cubes to gets started. Going to try and fallow the Lucas formula but i dont fully understand everything seeing as im just starting out im looking for some tips thanks.

Pictures of the ones i have now in soil.

dude, not much experience myself, but if you have a look at my journal, i have tried to put as much info in there as possible, and i am doing hydro.
as for the nute measurements, you dont have to use the companies recommended doseage, just start off at, for example, 1ml per litre, then gradually increase over time. if you have a reservoir, remember to have an airstone in there, as the roots must get oxygen constantly. I had an air pump fail twice on my first grow, so be prepared to replace things at first. i made the mistake of buying an expensive airpump and it broke within four weeks. also ensure your airpump is sat above the water level of your water containers, this will prevent water travelling up the airpipes into the pump.
hydro is the way ahead dude, good luck, hope to see pics of your grow, i harvest in three days so i will upload a photo of my harvest.
keep up the good work guys, one mans mistake is a lesson learned for everyone else.

The 5 gallon buckets are fine, when you mention it specificaly for your strain it makes no difference on which strain you use.

All fertilizers/nutrients feed charts are listed at high doses, for most strains you need to lower the dose, this is where a ec or ppm meter comes into action.

When plants are small use less nutes, the 1st 2 weeks dont feed them at all, once they get 2 sets of leaves start nutes at 200 ppm, once plants develope 3 sets of leaves raise the nutes to 300 ppm, raise nutes to 400 ppm once plants get 5 sets of leaves.

When you flip lights to go into bud stage raise nutes up again, you can raise to 500 to 600 once in bud stage, after 2 weeks raise nutes again to 700 or 800 ppm & run that ppm for the rest of the grow, all the way to harvest.

The ppm values i gave you are safe no burn,no lock out values, you may find out in subsequent grows the plants need adjustment with nutrient amounts up to the 1,000 ppm range but most strains in dwc like a lower range of nutes seeing as they are constantly seeing nutrients.

Thannks for the respose, sorry it took so long to reply but ive been busy running around trying to buy all my materials needed. My friend gave me the clones before i had anything so i strugled trying to find everything in such short notice and i think it might be to late for them. I placed them in rockwhool cubes and fed them 200ppm at 5.6 ph they have been in the grow tent for a day i dont think they will last but ill try and save a couple and use them as my practice run. Hope fuly i can get a my hands on more clones later this week now that i most the materials. Ill post picture later when the lights on.

Why do you always post the same thing twice?
