First indoor grow.

This is just pretty much practice grow. 12/12 from seed, LST. I am using MG soil (I know ppl say not to). 400w HPS. Superthrive for first two weeks. It is 7 wks old. 4 wks into flower. (Pic was a week ago.) Ferti-lome blooming & rooting 1/4-1/2 strength. 1g pot right now. Stays 70-80f. Not sure of Ph or humidity, as I don't have testers yet. I noticed leaves curling under, and lower leaves now turning yellow and falling off (normal?) I raised light to about 16" above top of plant from 10", and starting flush. Do you think she's ok? Any advice would be great.

Sorry only one pic. All my phone will upload ATM.

I'm not a veteran grower but you can tell she is very unhappy. Her leaves should not curl back like that, like thats serious over or underwatering but i could be wrong, hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge can help you. the lower leaves yellowing is normal during flowering, the buds are stealing the nutes from the leaves, once a leaf goes yellow feel free to pick it off, it's of no use to your plant anymore. thats quoting Jorge Cervantes by the way.

My guess is that I got carried away with the nutes. I could be wrong. But if that's the case, I'm about ready to transplant into bigger pot. Will the new soil and just plain water help solve this problem?

are the leaves dry and brittle? it looks like it may be under watering. theres nothing wrong with miracle gro, you juts cant use too many nutes because there is already some in there. whats your ph level and how often do you feed/water?

I give 1 ltr water about every other day . My soil is 17-9-11 or close to it. Maybe too much N? Don't know Ph. Don't have tester at the moment, but I let water sit for 24hrs first.. The Ferti-lome is 8-59-9 but I'm mixing it 1/4 strength (the 59P seems a bit much I think) so I have some plain ol' potting soil to put it in if needed. My space is about 24"x30"x20". Trying to keep it short.

Leaves feel ok except for last 2-3mm are brown/yellow like they're burnt. But only the ones that are "clawed"

if you are worried you can always change the soil but thats more stress on the poor girl, she has enough, just water with no nutes until she perks up, gotta flush them roots.

Can I just take it to the sink and use the sprayer to flush roots, put in fresh soil out of the same bag in bigger pot and start fresh? Would that create any shock?

I wouldn't do that.

Your four weeks in and the damage is done. I think you'll just have to ride it out on this one. If you transplant now, there will probably be some fuel leftover in the sink by the time the plant is done ripening and the smoke quality will probably suffer.
Next time transplant to bigger pots when using soil a week before flowering.
MG with its slow release nutes is great for extended vegging(first 4-5 weeks -0 nutes) but when flowering a 9 week plant, transplnat to something else rich like a 3-5 gallon pot of ocean forest or happy frog and start nute feeding after 4/5 weeks into 12/12. Leaves don't fall off, prematurely turn yellow and "canoeing" every time I've used this method in the past. Don't use MG if you're not vegging.
In the mean time just start some new seeds.

I got one already that pulled from outside a couple months ago due to cold weather, and she's almost done at 13" tall, but maybe 1/4 oz yield I'm guessing. I got one other seedling a week old.

Anyway, I put it in a 2 gal pot. (Didn't flush) I had let soil dry out the last couple days for that purpose. Once I got it out of old pot, I noticed it was pretty much rootbound. Anyway, my bigger pot has no drain holes, so I put about 2" of packing peanuts at the bottom for drainage. Then about 2" of same soil before I set root ball (more like "cup", as roots had taken shape of the pot.). I put 6-7 0z of water with superthrive (hoping that will lower shock from root damage.) And filled it up to brim w/ soil. And I was gonna give it just water, no nutes, for a few waterings.
So. We'll see how that goes.

The flushing should take care of the curling. But with the root lock and the transplant this late into flower, you'll need to inspect her very closely and frequently. She has been shocked and may go hermie on you. Good luck!

Your high-P nute is way too strong, think of this, if you are only using 1/4 strength because it's so high in P, then it probably isn't getting enough N&K. People underestimate the N needs of a plant in flowering, there is a brilliant 100+ page thread on leaves, nitrogen, phosphorous and how they all work together. Most of the nutrient companies will openly admit they make extremely high P bloom foods because they know that growers want it, not because it's needed. Stick with a more well-rounded food for her and you'll see more green and less yellow. Don't underestimate beneficial fungi, though I don't know if it would survive in Miracle Gro. I 2nd whoever said to use Ocean Forest, you don't even need to feed (other than water) for the first 3-4 weeks in that stuff and it's got some excellent organic nutes in there. It's a bit hot though, be careful trying to start seeds in it. look at Light Warrior for seeds, then transplant to Ocean Forest. Best of luck to you!

Well it's been 24 hrs since my transplant, I used same soil as before with 17-9-11 continuous release. I figured a 1/4 strength of the 9-59-8 after a week. Sound ok? I didn't give any water except some superthrive and water on the root ball before I filled the rest with soil. I figure I should have at least two days before I give it any water.

However, since I raised the light, and gave plain water before transplant, the new growth looks better. I'll post pics ASAP.

so to me it seems to be problems with soil and you shouldn't of transplanted, thats asking it to hermie.and you shouldn't f transplanted back into continuous release, buy mg organic soil, it works great. do a large flush on the plant to get nutes out and watch for burns/ or difficencys, and theres a high chance it will hermie

It's been 2 days now, and new growth seems good. No sign of pollen sacs yet. The soil has 17N 11K, thought that would be enough, I could be wrong since it is continuous release. But anyway, so far so good. I'll give it a week and see if I see any signs of it being hermie. Keeping my fingers crossed. (Really just want a little personal smoke instead of chasing it down) Practice makes perfect though, I want to be able to do some serious growing when I've got more funds, and this only helps the experience. I'll keep posted.

ya i grow with mg soil and nutes, it works fine if you start seedlings in mg seedling starter than transplant later into mg organic choice soil. i use mg all purpose plant food (12-4-8) for veg and mg cactus plant food (2-7-7) for flower
