First Late Summer/Fall Run 2013

Yo what's up RIU!

Just thought I'd keep a journal of a grow I just started on Sep 1st when I dropped the seeds in some soil.

Specifics:
Bubblelicious Feminized Autos from Nirvana
Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil
Extra perlite mixed in at a 3:1 soilerlite ratio
1 2-gal smartpot
1 3-gal grey plastic nursery pot
Tap water
Earth juice Bloom for flower
Light: Sun from start to finish

Aug 31: Dropped two seeds in Aquafina bottled water for 24 hours
Sept 1: Direct sowed seeds in soil mix in final pots. Threw pots in garage to avoid direct sun
Sept 3: Misted top of soil with tap water
Sep 4: Seedlings emerged perfectly and without issue. Placed both pots in direct sun around 7:30am until noon where they are now getting some shade (see photos)

Nothing special yet but I want to document everything. I will post progressive pictures as it gets more exciting. These are supposed to go three months from seed to harvest. I will answer that for sure with this journal.

So, a Colts fan living in Cali? Just wondering cause in 3months I can be skating in my backyard lol. I will be following along as I am curious to see how Auto's do outside.See lots of micro indoor 2 joint plants. I started a white widow auto on July 20 just for shits and giggles to see how it would do and so far i am quite happy with the results. I can't wait to see what they can do in prime gowing season next summer.

^^^Lol, yup looks like one gagger each! It's fun to mess around though, especially if you have the extra seeds. I have been following the solo cup contest and some of them are lookin pretty dam good, for being in a solo cup!

@burner yessir I live about 15 miles directly east of LA. I know its not prime growing season but like you said, autos are fun to mess around with at times you can't normally grow! Luckily Cali weather should permit this grow. And thsts exactly why I wanted to keep this journal, I have found minimal information on outdoor auto grows. Thanks for chiming in, can't wait for Sunday football again!

@tekdc no worries man, thanks for subbing... I'll add moreas as it gets more interesting, you know how it is. I heard autos grow quick so I'm looking forward to tracking their progress. I fucked up my first run by burning the seedlings under CFLs like a dumbass. I got like a joints worth. On a positive note that bud smelled amazing so I'mexcited for a larger grow

They do grow fast outside!! Mine was 23'' tall and pretty bushy at 40 days old. Like all weed plants, they seem to take there time and grow roots the first couple of weeks and then take off after that. I can throw up some pics if you like, but don't want to mess up your thread.

You're getting me excited burner! Haha and no worries man throw up your pics. My girls aren't much to look at yet anyway!

I do want to comment tho that these auto flowers pop the seed shell with the first true leaves already forming. That's insane to me bc the photo seeds take a lil longer to develop the first set and crack the shell with just cotyledons. Have you guys noticed that? I mean it makes sense given how fast they grow but it still amazes me

Ha Ha don't get to excited, I am hoping for a z off of her. Anymore will be a bonus. The seeds were cheap as far as fem autos go. So she is about 48 days old now and 25'' tall. She has really slowed down in overall growth but the buds are growing pretty good.

Hey guys, I'm back with the first update! Sorry I took so long but everything is pretty boring right now. They are 12 days old and are looking decent I guess. They are supposed to flower at about 4-5 weeks so I hope a growth spurt is coming or they take longer to start flowering. Anyway, I got a couple questions. Hopefully you can help.

1. Do they look yellowish to you? Should I be concerned? Maybe a 1/4 shot of some Fox Farm Grow Big? I was planning on not giving any veg notes but the soil is kinda old (failed run started may 1. Ended up with one plant that yielded about <1 gram. Yes a GRAM. So I was thinking the soil would still be use able as I had 5 gal of soil and a tiny ass plant)

2. When should I or should I be worried about the size of the plants? They seem small but I'm probably just being impatient. With photos you control the growth/veg time so I'm never worried. But these are autos and are supposed to start flowering in 16-20 days.

Also the plant in the smaller smartpot is bigger and growing faster than the one in the larger bucket. Different phenos? Just thought it was noteworthy for my journal.

Not to answer that for him but my guess is the sun comes up in the morning and goes down in the evening lol.

What is a typical day in Cali like this time of year? There was 70-90's here when mine started with over 14hrs of daylight. You are prolly under 12hrs by now i would think.

Don't know if this will ease your mind but here's mine on day 12, it's on the left in the light green bucket. I planted directly into MG with extra perilite added. I didn't feed anything for the first month. The mix had .14-.14-.14 npk ratio.

I was just being a smart ass lol. Now that you mentioin it though, I left mine in my tarped carport/garage for the first week or so.It lets in enough light to keep the grass growing but that's it. You think they like to fight for there light the first couple of weeks, that's how it would prolly be in the wild.
