I found a great spot but its swampy as hell so I was thinking put the plants out there in 5 gal buckets. Will they survive or will the roots die from not having enough room?

you will still need to care for them. a 5 gal bucket does not equal a big red cape.

I know that I'm gonna need to care for them I'm asking if the 5 gal bucket will be good enough for them to grow in outside. Because I've seen pics of outdoor plants growing like trees

I would just dig big 3x3x3 holes and fill with your own mix or fox farm has good soils but regarless then they will never outgrow their buckets and you will retain a lot more moisture, I've never grown outdoors yet this year will be a first but that's how I've always seen it donen with great results in less than favorable ground soil conditions

Oh and if your plot is near water chances are you will havee problems with deer/rabbits/rodents ect. Drop some bombs piss all over take some early precautions for that, preporation is keey!
Happy growing!!

Buckets are a lot more work. Sometimes i put mounds on top of the ground if you cant dig a hole. But everyone is right buckets are a lot more watering and if you have to lug water well it is a pain in the ass. I did buckets last year cause i just moved and well things were hectic. If you dont get rain for a while your up every day or two watering
