First post and first grow!

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Greetings!

My setup:

1x 80cmx80cmx160 cm Oxford diamon Mylar tent from eBay (45£)

2x 300W hydro Mars full spectrum LED (142 Watts actual being drawn from wall for each light ) (105£)

3x 3 gallon fabric smart pots (5£ for 5 pots)

1x 5 inch rhino hobby carbon filter + 5 inch ducting + 5 inch inline fan (55£)

12 inch desktop fan (able to oscillate - but I simply aim it towards a corner above the canopy with the back of the fan drawing air from a wide filtered intake vent on bottom and back of tent

2x 50L bio bizz organic soil all mix

1x 1L ionic cal mag

1x 20L bag random potting soil from nearby hardware store for when plants were seedlings but I will discontinue this soil for any future seedlings as consistency retained a lot water

Coco fibre cups which I only used for the 2 most recent seedlings

1x Bio bizz 3 nutrient pack: grow , bloom and tOp max

1x hygrometer
1x electronic thermometer
1x silver line solar powered PH, moisture and light intensity meter

Current soil ph: 7
Average temperature at canopy during light: 27-28 degrees Celsius
Average temperature at canopy during dark:
19-21 degrees Celsius
Average humidity: 45-55%

Background info: I actually began the biggest plant (unknown strain name so I titled it classic haze based off a vague hazey memory of the plant the seed came from being well... Hazey and of respectable potency) in a solo cup with potting soil and used 2x hgps 15W LED 100W 'equivalent' light bulbs with light spectrum of about 6000K and 2 x other brand led 15W '100W' equivalent light bulbs with light spectrum of about 3000K. The 'classic haze' strain lived for about 1 month in a roughly 4L milk carton which i cut in half. I had to leave the plant for about 2 weeks during which time I advised housemate to care for it and water every 3 days. He had to leave town for 4 days so I told him to overwater it before he left. When I came back home to the plant it was wilting and I realised there was about 5-6 inch of roots growing out the bottom of the carton as I had cut open about 2 inch long 1 inch wide slits at the bottom. Did not expect this to happen but damn the roots were literally livin in air soaking up water. Some sort of a sick, demented unintentional DIY hydroponic/aeoroponic system. Anyways all babbling aside, the roots growing out of the milk carton were essentially half a foot longer than all the roots stuck on bottom of carton, the roots seemed to have siphoned themselves. When I transplanted the plant into smart pot I had to place the plant on its folded over, jumbled roots. But damn did it make a strong comeback.

The 2 seedlings are iced widow from female seeds, and are 12/13 days old from seed being placed in water. They also began in potting soil but were transferred from small cup to the all mix so they have a lot better overall soil composition I'd say. They're making a stronger start than any bag seed seedling and I hope to flip all plants including the haze into flower within a weeks time. I'm desperate for homegrown medicine.

Throughout classic hazes life I've been pruning and fimming (especially a lot of fimming when it was young) and more pruning. I'd say this plant is roughly 7-8 weeks old since seed was placed in cup of water. I originally had many seedlings of various bag seeds but chose the strongest of the strong. Anyways I hope you enjoy be photos and updates which I intend to do at least weekly. Please do provide me feedback / suggestions / comments / questions / whatever ya feel.

Disclaimer: this grow is purely for self consumption and self medication of 2 auto immune diseases. Don't worry one of them is diabetes and other is gastronintestinal - I lead a relatively active and fulfilling life with fishing and studying and working etc.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I been creating knuckles in all my plants since young , and been pruning the haze since it was young but I have a question: where do everyone's opinions lie on the topic of pruning during veg and are there potential benefits from pruning vigorously during veg? The photo of a naked plant is how the haze looked approximately 7 days ago, after I furiously defoliated the plant (I ate the leaves of course - blended into a smoothie/juice). The other images are how the iced widows look after I bent them over or just images of each plants leaves

image.jpeg image.jpeg Also if someone could please tell me what the standard format of photo posting is , as in, what's the easiest way for you to view the photos I post I would appreciate that! Thumbnail , full image, etc. Thank you!! Looking forward to any discussion which might arise here !! These are the Low watt LED light bulbs I initially began the haze plant with. Iced widow seedlings began under full spectrum.

Haze update:
I attempted to super crop the main stem of the 'classic haze' about 2 weeks ago and as you can see it never quite healed. There's an actual open wound which the plant has been knuckling like crazy around.. My concern is the potential for disease but do you think the plant should be fine with this open gash? Everything above the wound seems to be flourishing and indeed it is the tallest top as of now.

Today's work:
I trimmed the tips of all the leaves today to Allow a bit more light penetration to the lower shoots and I'm really hoping the shorter side of the plant will catch up. I foolishly removed several stems of the plant about 3 weeks ago and as a result I'm a couple tops short of an even canopy albeit the lower shoots have grown tremendously and are attempting to catch up. I actually supercropped the shortest stem(s) today and near the base stalk in hopes it will increase the nutrient uptake and flow to its leaves / hopeful future bud sites. Stems which I've supercropped are the tallest and most vibrant.

As for the iced widows, I gave em both a good ole FIM today. For the iced widow I think I will simply allow the fim to work its magic, while I encourage the plant to strengthen and increase nutrient uptake via knuckling/super cropping/potential LST. The plant hasn't recovered from being supercropped yesterday.

Future:
I may attempt a 'by the books' mainline on a future plant so if anyone can recommend some resources or knowledge I'd really appreciate it.

image.jpeg Update, the shoot located near base of stem I just decided to rip off since it was hanging by a thread after my supercropping. I'm hoping it will become a clone for me, I ripped off two little shoots which opened up surface area as they peeled off and I cut at 45 degree angle At bottom, I then dipped the stem in fresh aloe. Let's hope it roots in my tap water !!!

Well the iced widows are responding to the fim well, as you can see in the photos some little things are sprouting out which will ideally become tops in the future. Also, the plants seem to be near to fully recovering from the supercropping. Hopefully it will knuckle and really kickstart some vigorous growth. I watered each iced widow about .8 litres of Celtic mineral spring water and the haze about 1.4 litres of tap water today. The plants really perked up within about 1 hour of watering. Any slight curling of the iced widows leaves in previous photos was gone after I watered them. Gosh damn I love how vibrant, vigorous and responsive yet resilient cannabis plants are. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg The iced widows have basically fully recovered from supercropping and are well on their way to hopefully producing more tops from where I fimmed them. Not sure how the iced widows will progress as this is my first grow with proper genetics. The only other plants I've grown is the 'classic haze' AKA unknown bag seed. I think I will start low stress training the iced widows today or tomorrow via garden wire. Not 100% sure how to apparoach the wiring but I think j might just pierce the plastic shopping bags around my smart pots in order to tie to branches down.

On another note, my mighty vaporizer arrived today and boy am I curious. Can't wait to try it with this supposed 'cheese' - very common to find cheese in my area and it costs 50£ for 7 grams

Looks like it's all going alright so far :)

I use same soil and bio-bizz nute line as a basic and I have to say so far I have no complaints towards either , apart from the grow can be messy as fuck when measuring out lol

What you can do to help prevent infection in open wounds is actually "band aid" the spot with some electrical tape or similar. It keeps bacteria out of the wound until it is able to repair what is needs to. the wound won't always "seal" the wound completely but at least it allows it to strengthen up the tissue to fight foreign bodies and prevent infection.

Fim site has completely recovered with lots of new sprouts. I tied down the 2 iced widow plants main branches 2 days ago and took the ties off today as I want to do a better LST but damn there's tons of new growth all over this plant. It's going to be a real bush, iced widow tends to be really compact apparently. Has anyone had any experience with this strain? Iced widow is a cross of white widow and ice. Meanwhile I supercropped the unknown potentially 'classic haze' plant all ov t what was once the tallest part of the plant. This bush is goin to have too many tops for my grow space I'm beginning to fear. I pray it will have no stretch but based on its looks, any rough guesses to what the strain composition might be? I'm thinking more sativa dominant with probably 30-40 % indica genetics. Please lord flower quick IMG_0425.JPG IMG_0426.JPG IMG_0427.JPG IMG_0428.JPG IMG_0429.JPG IMG_0430.JPG
