First Post, First DWC...

Hello all!
I have been a soil grower and bubble cloner for about a year now. I just bought a bubble bucket system for my 3x3x5 room. Due to height issues, 5' minus the fan and light, I opted for the 3 gallon buckets. I have only two running now with a large pump and 4" stones. Im using botanicare nutes at the moment. am waiting to order my ppm meter so I am running my nutes low just in case, my PH is at 6.0. I started with clones in 1" rockwool. Grape ape! The roots were barely out of the cube when I put them in the system. I have a 165 cfm exhaust fan, 400 watt switchable ballast, three 9" clip on circulation fans. YES, I have heat issues! The room temp is 90-94 here in northern cali! I cannot get it down! I leave the room open even. The buckets are cool to the touch, so Im assuming they are ok, dont have a water temp yet.

My main question is...how far into my hydroton should they be? How long should it take until I see growth, cause its been a week and nothing!

What size are you pots ?
Don't like rockwool due to overwatering issue. I use rooter plugs.
My net pots are 5 inch. I put 2 inches of hydroton in, then center the plug and fill in all around it. I want the top of the plug flush with the pot top.
I keep my pots under 0.5 - 1 inch of water until the root(s) come down.
Then keep it 1 - 2 inches under the pots.

You have some things to work on, asap.
PPM meter. Thermometer or get some 20 or 32 ounce bottles. Filled 80% up with water and freeze. Then drop in buckets every 12hrs or at lights on.

What/where are you exhausting into ?
Can you show your ducting ?
You have 3 times the required cfm's for your space,which is fine, UNLESS you have too many bends in your ducting.
How are you intaking air ?

Pics and more info will get you squared away much faster.

They are in 3 gal buckets, all black, 6inch net pots. I finally saw some root growth today, but not enough! lol I am getting a ppm and ph meter soon, I use the GH ph up and down kit and comes with a liquid PH tester. all around 6.0. I will get my wanter colder with ice packs as you stated. Problem is my house is fricken 82 degrees all day long! I am exhausting in to my studio, I have no windows! Using passive intake. i have one bend in my ductingat 45*.
My plants are also yellowing a bit, should I use more Nute?

Yes, they may need more but you need those meters.
Especially the ppm at this point, in order to know where you are and where you're going.
Otherwise your playing with dynamite.
