First post, first grow, first....erm everything

Thought I'd post this from a COMPLETE newbie stand point. I am starting completely from scratch. No seeds, equipment, nothing. I live in the south east US and have considered outdoor growing but I like the control that indoor would give. As far as seeds go I was thinking of going with Afghan ryders, I'm only planting a few plants and that strain seems like it would be the best for my situation.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has any friendly advice: equipment, best strains for first timers, where to order, etc...I've already done a ton of research but input from seasoned growers is always welcome!

At anyrate I thought I would post this and update it as I progress as a complete first timer experience.

I haven't ordered them yet, but I'll probably order this weekend from worldwide(I'll post how that goes). I did get a couple seeds locally for free that I'm just going to plant in my herb garden and see how that goes(although I'm not getting my hopes up for those).

mandala is a great breeder to start off with because those strains are not demanding. my first strain was speed queen which i ordered thru tude and i had branches longer than my arms!
if ur a first timer definitely order from a reliable bank.
indica plants are more of a couchlock buzz, and grow shorter and fatter. sativas are the uplifting party highs and they grow long and lanky. sativas are also usually a bit trickier to grow.
if space is a concern, grab a hydrohut and an indica strain, a 250w hps and some fans and a cooltube.
proper ventiliation is as important as the right light size. if u use a light that is too strong for your plants, theyll be heat stressed and not yield well.
if ur opting for a stinky strain, u need a carbon filter and it has to be strong enough to filter cubic feet of air at 5 times the square footage of the grow room every minute.

Is there somewhere I can find a list of what is all needed? I just would like to grow A (singular) plant for personal use.

Just look around here, (RIU) there are tons of posts about what people use & pictures of their results. You be the judge?
