Right, I just need to check I've got the right idea about this, preparation makes everything easier and all that.
I have an an alcove within an alcove in my room, 3' wide, 2' deep and 6' high, into this I want to build a standalone cabinet to keep my grow in a contained environment and then paint it the same colour as the wall to help it blend in. My first thoughts are to build it out of MDF, are there any better materials for cabinet building or is it not really that important?
I will be borrowing a 600W hps from a friend for lighting. I'm planning on using a 150mm fan as an outake and having a passive intake. I'm not too sure whether I'll be needing a carbon filter, everyone in my house smokes weed and is friendly towards the idea of me growing in my room and my room usually reeks of weed from the amount I'm smoking in there. I live on a private street with no foot traffic so random passer-bys shouldn't be a problem and I'm only going to be growing 2 plants so I can't imagine the smell is gonna be too bad.
I'll be paying a visit to the grow shop some time next week and shall be purchasing

Thick plastic sheeting for the floor of the cabinet
I'm planning to cut out a hole at the bottom of the cabinet the same size as the outake hole and cover it with a hepa filter and lightproofing it from the inside. The outtake fan/hole will be positioned diagonally across and up from the intake, next to the light.
Anything I'm forgetting here?
