First Stealth Hydro Grow

I bought the basic Stealth hydroponic kit and I set it all up in a wood constructed grow box, 3x2x4 ft in dimensions with a ventilation fan and the spectrum II lights, pics will be up shortly. I am picking up my clones today and once I plant them the grow fun begins. I have the small bags of nutes that came with the system and it brings me to my first question, how many teaspoons should I start out with, I know I should us 1/4 but how many teaspoons is that and do i use micro and grow and then hold off on bloom till flowering? Also do I leave the water and air pumps on 24/7 and should my lights be 18/6 20/4 or 24/0 to start out with?

This should be great

Use micro and grow as directed. Hold off on the bloom nutes untill flowering. During flowering you can still use micro though. Water and air should be on 24/7 and I would go 20/4 or 18/6 on the lights

thank you much, I am going to do 24/0 lights because I got 6 clones of Afghani and planted them, they are about 5 inches with strong roots. I put quarter of each nutes in and the system is running smoothly.

I just have to fill in cracks with calking and weather stripping to perfect humidity, it is very low right now hovering just under and around 60%

I am using the Spectrum II lights, im not sure on wattage but they are the low heat and low energy ones, they are perfect for my little grow. As I get more experiened I want to look into something like what you are talking about, more power.

i have the same system. i would get a scale so you can weigh your nutes. i dont know about clones. but i diddnt start nutes untill 20 days

60% is more than enough for the room, they should be around 100% in the bucket or tote. be carefull at first with the sh nutes they are strong as hell. just take your time bringing them up to full strenth little by little and let your plants tell you what they want. i burned the shit out of mine on the second week when i tried to go to 1/3 stength, now im at 5 weeks and 80% on just the grow nutes. using ionic grow with another plant and it is alot easier imo. good luck and keep us posted.

I would just go 24/0 lighting for clones through 6 weeks for good growth then change them to 18/6 for the two weeks after to sex them if needed. then IF FEMALE throw them under a good HPS light for 8 weeks 12/12 lighting. Im not a big fan of SH products I just think they are too expensive. home built units are cheaper and are better for learning imho. You can buy the most expensive plant grower on the market, but if you don't understand the plants basic- intermediate needs and what is really going on in the DWC then you might have just bought an expensive paperweight. GL with the grow weeds are pretty tough plants to mess up, but try not to over think everything. Check on it daily PH, Grow Rate, water level, water temps, plants temps. You should be ok.

Thanks for all the help so far, I am learning all about balancing ph right now, weighing it out and doing it gradually, I do not want to shock the plants. Everything is lookin good and the clones seem to be taking well to the system as they already look a tad healthier. I put in a little less then 1/4 nutes, before reading all the posts, and I wish I used even less, I will just wait a few days to add anything else. I am on 24/0 lights and is it too earlier to direct my 4" oscillating fan on my plants. Thanks!

System is completely air tight now, carbon filter vent is on and the humidty is in the 70% region and my temperature is about 88 degrees, is that way too hot, I just have to turn my vent fan to cool it, i turn it on for twenty minutes maybe three times a day, just to air things out and keep the temp down, also my fan to be directed on the plants will go in tonight as the heat is making me worried about mold soon. The clones still have yellow leaves on the bottom, should I clip those and focus on the growth at the top of the plant? Suggestions?

From everything i have read and heard anything over 90 is DEADLY. Your kind of pushing it i would try to get that down a little. Maby a few Rotating Fans

I have been reading a lot and I keep seeing talk of light proofing your resivior and putting covers over the rock wool, should I put plastic covers over the rockwool at the start? Now that my plants are planted I am just tinkering with perfect heat and balancing ph and what not.

Some leaves are still yellow but I see slight growth at the top of the plant

DAY 3
Temps at 75 degrees and humidity at 50%
The roots are poking through the mesh pots really well, one plant has roots only 1 inch from the water
Little bit of algae scum stuff on one side, little bit with little bit of foam, am keeping an eye on it and may clean my water in a couple of days
also the rockwool is detiorating and becoming all mushy with the tubes directly on top
Can anyone tell me if the rockwool eventually melts aways and the plants rely just on the hydroton for root shape...
Things are lookin really nice, pictures will come.

get the scum out!! the rockwool should look dry from the top, if it is allready breaking down i think you are getting it too wet. you can rot the stem if it stays too wet so be carefull with that.you probably got the scum from all those days it was 88 in there.

Scum is gone, ph is at a perfect 5.7-6.0 and my temp is heading towards 83, today ill put in a 4 inch fan directed on the plants to cool things down
Roots are shooting out of the bottom, i determined that I just have shitty rockwool from the club i got the plants, not as large as normal rockwool with no support around so Im doing ok.
I have found that with my feeder tubes, the main hub that sticks out of the water and connects them, my roots seem like they will tangle with it soon, when that happens how I am supposed to get the lid off? anyone have this situation before?

Ok ten days in, I changed the water, scrubbed the res, let the plants drink and then put in small amount of micro and grow nutes. If they are looking strong tomorrow I will trim their bottoms, trim the yellow dying leaves from my earlier mishaps and do some topping. The tallest ones are 7 inches and getty bushy already. I now have a fan inside and my temp is around 75, humidity is at 40% and my lights are still on 24 a day. My pump is out as all the plants have roots in the water so i dont thing algae will be too much of a problem anymore, the pump just made things so wet.

It has been four weeks since my process began, plants are not 12 inches, two are doing great, two are a little stunted and two I took out too make more space for the four. I just started the budding process, I turned my lights to 12/12 and left grow nutes in. I am leaving grow nutes for three days before I switch to by flowering nutrients. I also have molasses, any ideas on when I should use that. Anyone have any helpful tips for my first flower stage, Ill post pics
