First time attempting a grow

Ok, my girlfriend gave me a few bag seeds the other day and im planning on doing a small grow in the woods this summer. As i live in canada there is about 6 feet of snow on the ground right now so all i need to know right now is how many (if any at all) of these seeds are mature and if they are, any outdoor growing tips would be much appreciated! I'm not looking to grow 10 pound plants just to get a bit of a yield off it if i could get 2 ounces total id be happy. Thanks in advance for any help!

They look like they could be fine.
zsome people put a little pressure on them and see if they break but for now I would just germinate them and see.

If you start them indoors you have a better chance of them surviving.

Dont plant around soil with pine needles

Eh come to think of it.
I would look up the outdoor stickies as all the info is probably already there.

If you have a specific question its easier.

My biggest pointer is to put the seeds in a cool dark dry place and read until you
have a good overview or a specific question.

Alright thanks, where i live it wouldn't be near warm enough for a plant to grow until the first week or so of june, how long before i'm ready to plant should i germinate them?

Begin growing in a pot and on warm days place it in the sun, but not directly on the snow. If there is a wall or side of the house that would protect it from gusts of wind that would be ideal also. The plant will be very fragile in its early stages but it will become sturdier. Good luck!

Having lived in the Pacific Northwest, I can tell you from experience, it can be tricky to finish them outside.
By the time your seasonal light cycle reaches 12/12, you only have around a month before temps at night get too low or frost sets in.
I live in Colorado, and our summers are 90's and sunny, but by September, it's a gamble to finish before frost.
I grew a couple outside plants last year. I grew them in 12 gal Rubbermaid tubs. In the beginning of August, I moved them into the shed every 12 hours.
I put them in at 7am every night and took it out at 7 am every day.
Not possible if you are dropping them in the dirt and trying to be discreet.

By the first week in September when the light cycle is perfect, my plants were already four weeks in flower.
I left them outside after that and they finished before frost.

Southwest Ontario here. 6 feet of snow and its still coming my igloo brother. I do outdoor each year, heres how I do it.

Germ your seeds and veg them inside (window, cfl, anything really) just want to get a few weeks of veg before you plant them. Really helps give them a chance out there. I personally plant may 24 weekend if not just after (weather depending). Make sure the spot is open for lots of sunshine. You dont want much vegitation around where your plant cause the plants around your MJ can choke them of sunlight.
I plant them (some liquid cubes in the soil) just for them 30+ days we get. I dont ever visit them unless its a super dry week or two. October is very important, I chop as close to the first "real" frost as I can, some chop early. Just make sure you get them before the frost.
Hopefully this helps yah some.

I live in PEI, the frost usually doesn't come till mid october but it doesn't get warm until june, i will definitely use your tips thanks!
