Yo that is a good grow. I looked through your journal to see if I seen much about the odor or odor control and didnt find anything. How bad has the odor been and is it escaping into the rest of your house? Great job. Will be starting my first grow soon just got my medcard. I am thinking some white widow and some purple one or the other for starting off not sure yet.

Good job.

The smell is strong throughout my house. I used some "Natures Air Sponge" and it seemed to work great until I ran out and tried a new product, which didn't work at all. I do not really have to worry about smell because my house is away from other houses, and people that do come over are family, which are into the grow, or very close friends that I have known for 13+ years. The smell is a deep piney dank smell, which isn't really stinky. Hell if I use an incense in my living room it masks the smell pretty good.

You guys are in for a treat today!

On Wednesday I was inspecting the trichomes on the ladies, and they are on target with what I want...clear/milky trichomes with a hint of amber in them...so 7 more days and its harvest time. I am going to do a final flushing today and am going to let them dry out very well before I chop them.

Now to good stuff. I wanted to keep this a surprise until later this weekend BUT I just can't resist. Princess, the lady with two tops, decided that she wanted to show A LOT of amber trichomes...It was kinda expected because she was the first one to flower and seemed to mature A LOT faster than the other ones. Granted, she was also about 5 - 6 days older. I had a decision to make: either wait until I harvest her with the other ladies and get a more couch-lock high OR harvest her soon to get the most out of her. I consulted my wife and called my brother and told him what was going on, and they agreed with me. I didn't have any place to give her darkness for about 24 hours until I cut her down, so I just harvested her on Wednesday.

I did not take any pictures because I didn't have my camera, but I was able to to take a snap shot of her root system:

Here they are after two days of drying...and yes they have already shrunk about 50%.

We did manage to make some hash and it was so damn good, very nice head high with some body stone. I was able to get a lot of work done with her...def a great day time smoke!

Drying: Since the room where I am going to dry them is currently filled with the other ladies, I had to improvise. I trimmed all the buds and cut off as many leaves from the stem...a lot of work but fun. I spread them out on inside a box, and made a small dark room for them. Temps in the 75 range with a low humidity. Today I took them out and they smell INSANE. No green smell, just pure ganja. I deep dank piney aroma as described. They have about 5 more days drying before I start curing them, BUT I couldn't go without doing a test drive ;)
;)

I was worried that I would have a green taste, but this small bud seemed to be dry enough to test. I tasted the sweet aroma instantly. No wet bud flavor, and no type of nutrient taste...so yea the flushing did help A LOT.

Within one minute I felt a nice body tingle, then came a huge head high that lasted for about 1 hour...then I started to come down but did not feel tired AT ALL. Excellent smoke, but I really can't wait until they are 100% dried and cured. Also, she seemed to have the less trichomes of them all...so that means the other ones should be ever more potent.

I wasn't able to weight her, but I should have a dry weight next week. I hope you guys enjoyed the news! :leaf:

Harvested yesterday and got about 15 oz wet with 4 plants...and the other bud that has been drying is just a bit shy of 2 ounces. So, I estimate about 7 - 8 ounces dry.

Well anyways, here are some pics!

I did a bit of manicuring and hung them up...but going to do a bit more in a day or two...just gotta dry them a bit. I am also going to remove every bud and hang them individually via clothes pins. The buds are already solid like a brick! I guess thats what happens when you use a 400w HID system.

I also ended up with a couple of grams of hash.

Anyways, thanks for everyone that has viewed my journal! If you have any questions just ask away.
