I have a 4x4 tent with 2 5gallon dwc set up and planned on getting bestva 1200w for the 2 whitewidow plants now I hear it is not enough, can someone tell what size and kind of led light I should use for 4x4 tent with 2 5gallon dwc, thanks

I like the spider farmer sf4000. It’s a solid light.

Hlg 550 would smash a 4x4
Now maybe I’m a bit extra because I that’s the lighting I went with. :)

Despite the claims that the bestva 1200 replaces an 800w hps, it doesn't, its a 240w light and for good results would probably be best suited over 2x2.5ft , you want to look for the wattage draw and assume it takes about 50w per square foot to get solid buds. (with cheap LEDs)

Taking that into account you would probably want 4 of those lights to properly light a 4x4 tent in flower or two of them to veg well.

So the cheap light no longer seems so cheap.

We aim for around 30-35w per square foot with higher efficiency LEDs like some of those suggested above, they cost more money.

That 1200 watt light only puts out 257 watts and might do ok in a 2x4.

I think you could veg with it but you would be quite underpowered for flower in a 4x4.
Thank you I will look for another led if you have any recommendations I would appreciate it

Hlg 550? Is that led?
Yes, it’s very efficient as well. You can even diy and save money. I’m a woman and I can’t put anything together so I bought it ready to roll. The red one is the latest, I have the first one that came out.

It's difficult without knowing your budget the HLG 550 would light a 4 x 4 well. Though the cheapest version is the v2 eco at 650$. You could get close to that with slightly less efficient v1 quantum boards with 2 of the 260watt v1 kits.

There are a lot of options if your willing to do some small diy.

I suggest you read through the led section awhile there.are.countless threads about the same question with many suggestions.
