first time grow - smell??

Ok, my 4 plants are only 9-10 days from being planted, and are maybe only 1 1/2inches above the soil(max), and just starting their 2nd set of jagged leaves. I've left them in my kitchen in a warm place with 125w of cfl on them(in the middle of all 4, and I rotate them once a day - they look green and healthy, if maybe a little small compared to other posts I've seen). Today I walked into the kitchen and there was a faint smell of maybe... ass, cat piss or something. First of all I thought my cat had done something somewhere, but no.. Could it be the plants already? My sense of smell is very good.

I live in my own house, there are houses close by, but not connected or any communal area's etc. Will I be ok with the smell if I eventually keep them in my bathroom with my small extractor fan on? The neighbor's bathroom window is very close to my extractor fan's output(maybe a meter and a half), but it's almost never open and I actually suspect they are growing in there too!!!(lights on all night, blind down, etc...). How strong will 4 smallish plants smell? :S

I noticed that my plants started smelling way sooner than I expected as well. I was floored that after two weeks of me initially smelling them (I was growing in a room in the basement) in the room, I could smell them when I walked in my front door. You are going to have smell and, unless you find a way to eliminate the odor, I think the neighbors will be suspicious. Happy Growing!

aside from neighbors you got to worry about the mail man meter man etc best to get a filter plus you wont tie your hand on only growing low odor strains

Do you think I honestly have to worry about smell growing in an upstairs bathroom with the fan runing 24/7, door closed? I'm growing 2 northern lights autos, and two mk ultra regs.

It will stink really bad when they flower, vent or no vent, door closed or not. I have had people come over and smell it 15ft away from the house(I have no filter)

automater odor spray, carbon filler, plus seal room

do the best u can. some plants smell to the high heavens! next time try a low odor mj variety. i grow northern lights and u have to really close to them to get a whiff.

sometimes u will get a pheno that has a strong smell. GL

Dude I refused to listen about smell -like who would smell 4 plants? Little did I know grapefruit has phenos very close to diesel as far as smell. In 6 or 7th week, my school buddy comes by - he's like dude, I smelled pot at the bottom of the stairs (3rd story apartment).

Be careful and get a carbon filter.

It all depends on the strain.
Some smell more than others.
