First Time Grow!

Just one close-up for now, they are really growing quick now. The bud sites on both plants seem to be at the same place.
The first plant is now 24 inches and the tallest branch of the LST'd plant is 26.5inches.

take the male plant, shake it over a piece of wax paper or a news paper. get a card or something and scrape up all the yellow dust (pollen) get a qtip and dip it in the pollen. put that in a ziplock bag. go in your flowering room and take out a plant, take the plant and go into another room, get the qtip from the ziplock bag, find the lowest branch or a low branch you like on the girl, take the qtip, tap it over the budsite one time. put it back in ziplock bag.

leave girl a few minutes to marinate, spray some water over the budsite you pollinated, wash your hands, replace in flower box, wait for seeds.

Does the whole plant stop flowering, even if you only pollinate a couple of flowers on low branches?

Here are some pics from yesterday.
First plant is 25", second is 27.5"

I'm going to continue to LST the second one for a bit more. Maybe just tie it down one more time. I think I need to do it at least once more to give some of the lower bud sites better access to light.

Two days ago, my exhaust fan ripped off the ducting and the flower room was 92 degrees when I walked in, have no idea how long it was like that.

I watered yesterday, but some leaves seem to be a bit more flat, and a few scattered ones are yellowing. Not sure if that's heat or maybe nute burn, though I haven't had nute problems in a while.
For nutes I'm using General Hydroponics. FloraGrow (2.5 ml) FLoraMicro (5ml) FloraBloom (7.5 ml) and I've put a couple tspns of molasses in the last couple waterings as well. Each plant drinks about a half gallon once every three days.

But besides that, stuff seems to be looking good. The LST plant is around 31" now.

I just checked on the plants and the plant on the left is now forming crystals on the bud and leaves nearest it. Not that I know much, but I think that's a good sign. No crystals on the other plant though.

Great job man. Ive been following this thread for a little while and have learned from your experience. How are the temps these days?

Looking much better now that it's not 90 outside lol. I'm around 78-80 during the day and below 75 at night.

I'm going to put updated pictures up tomorrow for their three-week flowering anniversary.

They're looking pretty good and seem to be comparable to other photos on this site of 3-week old buds. Both plants are now getting crystally, which is quite exciting.

A couple buds have hairs that are turning red...I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but it seems to just be a couple.
They're really growing - I added 3 more CFLs a couple days ago and probably should add some more...though I'm low on outlets lol.

So both the plants have slowed down in growing in height. They've grown about an inch in the last week or so. The buds are still growing. I'm also losing son fan leaves. Are these normal things to experience?

Hey chief looking good man nice work bro....Fan leaves turning yellow and falling of is completely normal from what i know its just the plant using up the stored energy in the fan leaves to help the final push...The plant stopping growing height wise is a good sign you'll notice the bud getting nice and dense over the next 2 weeks...Looking really healthy though

Hey Irish, thanks for the info. Appreciate it!

Does this mean they are not going to be getting much bigger? I'm trying to predict what kind of yield I'm looking at

Here are some pictures today, at the end of week 5.

So to clarify something...I stared counting the days of the flowering period the first full day of 12-12. After some reading, it looks like I should have waiting to begin the count when buds began to grow, which was about 10 days later according to photos and notes that I have.

Other than that stuff going good. The first plant is getting a fruity smell, still only when close up, while the second plant has a more subtle gasoline-ish smell.

They still haven't really grown in height for a couple weeks...but other things are growing :)
