First time grower and first post! - Critique my first setup please!

To be honest man, I know i'm a complete nub, and I came here for advice. I know i'm not gonna grow some top shelf shit the first time around.

To be honest I think i've almost been reading to much, and the guides all vary so much. Its kinda easy to get lost among all the opinions the books / internet provide. Would I like to grow some just killer shit? Hell yes I would! I guess I just put a fair amount of faith in the CFL's seeing as their was an entire chunk of the grow section dedicated to it. It might be important to note a buddy and I have been playing with / making LED projects. I honestly have been reading http://www.marijuanagrowing.eu/autos-led-guide-led-home-build-hello-friends-t28041.html way to much and I thought we could piece together something worth while. I'm sure we'll even spend more than a simple HPS set up WOULD have cost. Honestly I just got rushed when a buddy just showed up with a clone, and I just built something lol. I should have just ordered a simple tent and called it a day. Either way, I've got what I have, and i'll do what I can with within my budget to step it up a notice.

I guess as a art major / graphic designer you just get use to people ripping your design / ideas apart, and being constructive / objective about it.

I'm sure I could have done worse that being said lol. The light issue will be resolved within the week, I wasn't thinking when I caulked the damn box with clear caulk.

If anyone has links for suggested ideas or products they think would better fit the bill by all means pass it on! I'm not trying to be lazy (although if I was experienced at this i'm sure I would assume that was the case, as all nubs are), but I feel i'm confused as to what will really be cost effective vs over the top.

Hell even if you have a video or book you'd suggest that I haven't been thumbing though i'd love to give it a view / read.

Weatherstripping and more caulk = almost every light leak taken care of, but honestly its in a closet, it will be dark as shit regardless.



All the light bulbs where switched to 2700k bulbs (100 watt equivalent(23w?))




Here is my first attempt at LSTing a plant, please feel free to tell me if I did a piss poor job. Hopefully platinum doesn't hate me too much.

My first setup as extremely similar. You'll want to replace those CFL's with something of higher wattage when you hit veg, and that'll generate heat. Something I didn't consider at first was that the plywood doesn't allow heat to escape easily. Drill a series of 1" or 2" holes in there, seriously.

Ok everything is looking pretty damn good!

I've got my ONA bucket going, got the customer built carbon scrubber venting out the roof. The plants slowed way way down on the growth, doesn't look like we'll impede the ceiling anymore.

Khemdog still putting up a helluva fight!

I've got 100 15k Mcd LEDs on the way, friend and I are gonna make a DIY 25 light LED setup per plant and see if we can't add some love to the budget setup. Next time I'll sure i'll grab a 250w HPS or something of that nature.

What size HPS would you guys suggest for a box this big?
