First Time Grower - The Secret Garden

i swear yesturday i was in the same position as you. (almost EXACTLY!!!) It kept getting too hot upstairs. The only reason i diddn't move the grow to the basement is b/c as soon as winter hits the EXACT same problem is going to occur. Too cold. (then you gotta buy a heater). Then i said too myself "even if winter hits and i keep the grow upstairs it's still gonna get too hot in the closet when the lights are on". Plus when the lights get shut off it's gonna get too cold in the closet. There is no way you can cut a hole in the ceiling leading to the attick. (renting?) The only way to overcome this problem is to get fresh air into your grow space and at the same time get the hot air out. I did this with one fan. The fan is pushing the warm/hot air into the attick while at the same time its pulling in fresh air from around the doorway. As soon as the temp got above 85 my plants would start growing very slow. I hope everything goes great! I cant wait to see that Dro! Oh and opening the door will help a little but your still not removing the hot air at a rate where you will notice a good enough change. I am no expert AT ALL.. ive just recently left the same exact boat your on right now!!

HEEEELLLLLPPP, i have the aerogarden and am waiting on my pods and stuff to get here. Thing is that i already germinated my seeds and they cracked out of the shells already and i am still two days out from getting my pods and domes. What can i do, one of the roots is already an inch long. PLEASE help

Well, I cut down the lights and let in some more air, and it seems to be helping. The yellowish tinge and brown tips are still there, but it hasn't gotten worse.
I also started nutrients today. Here's a pic.

The heat and light were definitely too much for Lil' Miss Plant. She is growing like...well....a weed! The bottom 2 leaves still have the brownish tips, but I assume that's not going to reverse itself.

I decided to go with the AG nutrients. I have the Master Gardener kit and the guide I found online said to start with the larger (8mL) packets first. So I topped off the reservoir and poured in an 8mL packet. I also poured an 8mL packet into a gallon of distilled water, and that is what I use to top off the reservoir now.

Hey there!
I have been adding nutrients to my water since the beginning. I started at 1/4 of a small starter nutrient tab, then to half a starter tab and then up to 1 starter tab which i have used for the last 2 weeks. I am on week 5

here are some pics

(by the way, I also noticed one of my plants leaves is more light green/yellowish than the other! I wonder why that is)
What type of nutes? I have the Ag and I added the Fox Farm nutes per the instructions. 3 total teaspoons for 1 gallon. I was concerend after reading this that nutes earlier will mess it up, but my progress is pretty good.

I have a similar set up as you. Where were your other lights at? I'm adding CFLs tomorrow and want to avoide the heat issue. I'm waiting on my tent. My temp is 77 at night and 85 in the day so I hope that is OK. I'm a little concerend bout the tent and heat. I'm goong to keeep an eye on that.

I put my germ seeds in the AG yesterday with Fox farm nutes and they are already 1.5 inches in less than 24 hours in the AG. I'm on 24 light.

I had 2 CFLs on a bendy-neck desk lamp, in front of the AG. The bulbs were about 4-5 inches away from the plant. I have considered using them again, but setting them a couple feet away. But my plant seems to be growing at least an inch a day, so I'm not concerned about light anymore......now I just have to figure out how to keep it from getting mega tall. Although I could deal with it if I needed to.

My plant is really doing well. It's over 12" tall now, nice and green, and pleasantly fragrant.
I took the hood off and am just using CFLs because the plant got too tall, it was touching the grow lights.
It's 8 weeks now since I planted.
I've been using the AG nutrients.
I'll try and post a pic tomorrow.
I want to see pics of different stages in the growth of plants so I know what to look for.
The link to the picture forum doesn't work for me though.
