Hey guys,

I have a question. I started growing mushrooms in my Mycodome rig about the 23rd of February. I have Mycelium growing in 4 out of 6 cakes. The question i have is about contamination. On all of the jars that have Mycelium growing there is some sort of brown color in it as well. its still dominantly white, but each jar has a patch of brown as well. Does this mean they are contaminated? I just worry because i don't want to get me or my friends sick. any help will be very much appreciated.

Thank You,
Arun

To be completely honest, you should get a picture up. But unless your referring to color of the vermiculite, then yes there contaminated. During colonization they have to be absolutely cocaine white all the way around, the only acceptable color is blue bruising on the cakes when bumped. Make sure you sterilize as much as possible!
