First time growing :) CFL grow with pics!

So this is my first grow, its been running for awhile now and i'm loving it! I have 4 main plants and 4 smaller ones. Just switched into 12/12 after about 6 weeks or so of vegging. Using 2 130w CFL's + 2 exhaust fans. Because of space restrictions (home made tent) i have done a lot of LST'ing and a bit of tipping. Had a few hitches at the start, but ironed them out and they seem much happier :) I'm trying to keep them as small as possible without sacrificing too much yield. Any feedback / advice would be super helpful...ill update pics every week until harvest :leaf: This is very much learning as I go however..

These are the first photos i took, at about the 2-3 week mark. This was when they first started having problems - turned out to be over watering + ph issue. Changed soil + changed food, re-potted and added 1 extra CFL

This is 3 weeks later, after the changes above. Still showing minor problems - dropped back on the feeding to fix. Doing much better, starting to grow rather explosively.

And now the most recent. Flipped into 12/12 yesterday. Going to experiment with the babies going 12/12 start to fin aswell, mainly because unless i get mostly males i won't have enough room.
The smell is incredible atm :P
Last 2 pics are after some LST work.

Good job dealing with noob mistakes, we all go through them, good luck! I bet theyve started showing, you should look closley...it happens naturally around 6-9 node apoears

hehe thanks... the first problems were was part from laziness @ the i think. But after putting so much time into them...i've grown quite fond of them :)

I haven't seen any signs of sex yet..hard to find the 6-9 node mark they are so fkn bushy :P...although not signs i can see. But not really experienced and don't have a magnifying glass on hand. Hopefully soon though!

I might have to supplement with a HPS light soon though... both my bulbs are 5500k+...i believe softer is better for CFL Flowering? Also with them all in there atm i can't LST anymore cus there is just not enough room, so i will have to start going up very shortly...

You've done good so far, as said, fixing your earlier mistakes.
As far as the CFL's, absolutely you want to add some 2700's in there for flowering.
You mentioned you cut back on feeding, but didn't mention what, how much and how often you were and are now feeding.
I don't see the burn from the middle set of pics getting worse, but in the middle, as well as the last set, I noticed some of your plants are looking hungry.
Unless you're positive those seeds are completely identical, you should keep an eye open and try to read each one individually, because they can easily all have different needs.
My last outdoor grow, all through it, my Sativa was a nute hog.
This outdoor I am doing now, started out with the Indica being the nute hog, and I was feeding twice as often as the Sativa, but within the last month, I haven't had to feed either of them, but it seems they are evening out now and looks like they will both be wanting to be fed about the same time.;-)

How many 2700's would i need? Because you can still run a mix of 5000k+ and 2700k+ i believe? Anyone know what the ratio of bulbs is for lower to higher?
Im feeding a few different things - Canna Rhizatonic, Seaweed extract, A + B Organic Veg stage, Drive (Organic microbe booster i believe), and Canna Veg. I alternate between how much and how frequent, usually feeding with soil waterings, but occasionally foliar.

I've stopped with the seaweed for the moment though because the other organic stuff im using has kelp extract. I was feeding every soil watering (2-3 days) and 1/4 str foilar every couple of days. Now im feeding once every 4ish days via soil without any foliar spray.

What are early signs that they are hungry? I tapered off because of the earlier over feeding...might have been a little 2 much.

When I veg, I use about 70% 5000K and 30% 2700K.

Another photo update - They are growing like crazy since I flipped em. 2 Confirmed females so far, the other two are not showing any signs yet ASFAIK. They have filled up the tent completely, the only place left to go is up. Im having to raise the lights nearly an inch everyday to stop them touching...i really wish i had enough room to do some tying down. Hopefully one of the un-sexed turns out male to free some space.

Today I noticed some faint white fuzz growing on the soil surface on a few of the pots..Is this because there is not enough light getting through the canopy so its starting to mold or something?

Also - does anyone have advice on pruning during flowering? I would like to remove some of the growth under the canopy as they are very tiny leaves and don't seem to be doing much. Is it bad to prune them in this stage? should i wait until some buds start forming?

Thanks for any advice guys!

Sounds like with the white fuzz that there's too much moisture and humidity and not enough air circulation..
As for pruning i never prune myself just let them do it on there own throughout flowering i have a friend that prunes his but seems his always be so small i beleive it takes away from its energy production..
he also had the white fuzz on his because of poor ventilation and high moisture and humidity..

hope this helps green!:)
happy growing

Personally, I don't prune or thin out mine.
I wait, and if some of the low inner leaves start yellowing and falling off due to lack of light, then I pick them out of the soil and toss.
As far as your fuzz, do you have good air movement?
Stagnant air, along with constantly damp soil and high RH will easily give you mold or mildew.

Hey guys!

I've been super slack with recent updates, so here are a bunch of pics of the girls at the moment. They smell AMAZING and are looking better every day. I need to buy a microscope or something soon to start checking the tric's tho. Lemme know what you think!

- Added an extra 125w 2700K + swapped to flowering nutes.

I flipped mine about 5 weeks ago, I've been shooting for 8 weeks and I'll see where I'm at from there. just based on what I've read here.

Awwww thats killer. The smell is just cruel :( Alas i would rather wait for the better end result :) As long as I don't get an inspection in the next 3 weeks :P Thanks for the feedback guys!
