First time Indoor grow - CFL Question

I've been growing outdoors due to limited indoor space.

Well, I finally decided to do a small indoor grow with only 2 clones for some indoor experience.

I just purchased two CFL lights, one 42 watt, 6500k and one 65 watt. I also purchased two clamp lights from Home Depot to put the lights into. http://www.mobilemart.com/product.aspx?p=79745

After getting home, I realized my two CFL lights DO NOT have a built in ballast. Looks like I purchased the non-integrated lights.

My question is, do I need to purchase a ballast before I plug my NON BALLAST CFL lights into the clamp lights? I've read around, and it seems that I do infact need a ballast for my CFL's. Do the clamp lights have a build in ballast, or would I need to use another type of lamp?

Thanks in advance for the help.

hey semi,
so im trying to imagine this... (im high)

if you do indeed have a non-ballast cfl... then more than likely it will have a "2pin" or "4pin" setup and that wouldn't fit into a standard light socket. But, if it does fit, it does have a ballast attached and no worries let the growing begin! But when all else fails... plug it in...if it doesn't work...needs a ballast

IMO those clamp lights suck...1)most cases the cfl is to big, higher watt ones at least. 2) y splitters barely fit so the blubs are touching the dome... and ouch... it's hot......if you search the forum they show you how to make a hood for cfls out of cans... it's pretty cool.

Good luck!
