First Time Under the Sun.

Soooo. Transplanting today. Still looking for some opinions on mushroom compost, or other recommendations for soil.
Get yourself some Super Thrive. You can find it almost everywhere garden supplies are sold, even Wal-Mart. Its basically vitamin b1 and it works great for transplanting to help babies with transplant shock.

I use Advanced Nutrients 2 part Grow and Bloom ferts. Its affordable for your small grow and i like the results. Anything from your local hydro store will work tho.

I've been using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil the past 4 years and i love it. I dont add anything to the soil. it drains well and has fish emulsion which i am a fan of. I have been wanting to incorporate some mushroom compost/soil amendment though for all those beneficial microbes. I highly reccomend mixing fox farm with some mushroom amendment. I thank you for reminding me and i will have to wait till next year to employ this since my girls are planted and blooming now.

Good luck and happy growing!

Well considering i transplanted a little under a week ago, i don't think im gonna use ocean forest(although i would have preferred to use it to begin with) this time around. maybe on the two smaller ones im transplanting tomorrow.

I am going to go pick up the fox farms trio tomorrow. [: I'm feeling really good about them considering this is my first time making it to flowering stage. (Got nothing but shitty male clones before)

Once the flowering starts, no more topping. I think too much fish juice will just flat-out burn the leaves. Sounds like a deficiency. Superthrive is for emergeny 911 use. Like an IV in the arm. Use it carefully. Does your soil have the trace minerals that it needs? I use Greensand & Epson Salt to supply these needed addatives. Watch them black pots, they are little ovens. Double pot to help the roots from cooking.

Hey young...I'm down on the east end of the gorge...I'd say at this point be careful with whatever you use. You can spent a ton on them and at this point in the season the benefits might not be worth the cost. "IF" you want to keep the N up a little while getting the phosphorus to the plant for flowering, you could get some Alaska Fish Fert (5-1-1) and FF Tiger Bloom Blossom Builder (2-8-4) and don't use full strength of either..Your plants are pretty small and will shows signs of over fertilization pretty quick.
You could get by with the smalled pint sized Alaska for about 6 bucks at HomeDepot and 20 bucks for the Tiger Bloom. Those two should see you through harvest.

Depends on ho much $$ you want to invest. I "think" the trio of FF will cost somewhere around $60 if I'm not mistaken. That's based on my recent purchase of Tiger Bloom.

I'm not an expert, far from it but I have had my hands in gardens for quite a few years. I was just wondering out loud to you about cost vs benefit at this stage of the game.

So, if you wanted to keep the N above what Tiger Bloom provides you could spike it with a weak dose of fish fert.

Be careful with the fish emulsion if you are growing outdoors!! When I used it, that stuff attraced critters - Raccoons & oppossum. They proceeded to dig up several of my ladies. Those pests love fish and they can smell it a long way away.

Good luck!
