I originally had 11 seedlings growing in one 3-gallon pot full of MG soil, using MG organic plantfood under a 150Watt HPS. I have now set up a much larger grow space with 92% reflective material, transplanted 8 plants into two separate 3-gallon pots filled with FoxFarm Ocean Forest ocean_forest.jpg (4 plants in each) under the same 150Watt HPS, with two additional 150Watt CFL's and a very small 45watt Gro-Light. I know I shouldn't have even the four plants crammed together, but it is a much more logical attempt this time than my previous.

IMG_2003.jpgthis was my terrible first attempt...until I was informed by some of you, how F*CKING stupid it was. So i went out the next day and changed it to this set up! What do you think of the improvements?

4 plants in a pot...bad idea. I'd say put em in individual ones before their roots get all tangled together.

f53e05e.jpgf2a08a4.jpgGo to the closest dollar store or whatever and buy some red 16-20 oz. Solo cups. Put one plant in each for 2 weeks.

you could put those cfls closer. put them as close as you can with out burning your plants at all. and get a fan in their and strengthen their stems.

haha...i planted 5 seeds in each 5" container. and i will seperate them into five seperate pots. your's will be ready to up-pot soon.
u CAN plant them all together and seperate. dont listen to the naysayers. i do it all the time...it's cuz ima pro. no really. ive been gardening for a long time and its ez. keep the roots moist and dont let em dry out after u seperate them. but u prolly already know that. i think your off to a great start.

Thanks Dannyboy....yours is the first vote of real confidence.....I originally had 11....but i uprooted them and over-watered the hell out of them so they started to die...i just pulled em' to make room for fresher dirt, and less crowding. I will post in a few weeks and let you know how my progress goes. If you have any more advice for me, please let me know...Dannyboy602, you think I got my lights close enough....considering the HPS is like 8" from the plants and the CFL's are like 12-24" away...I feel like if all the lights were that close, it would burn them...considering they are so young, fragile and I literally just re=planted them an hour ago....oh and what light cycle should I be on at this stage....they are like a little less than a month old?

those cfls should be like 2 to 4 inches off the tops... if ya got the hps at 8 inches you do know that the cfls can be closer

IDE.stick to a.cooler.range CFL and.lose the hps for.now hps spectrum makes seedlings tend to stretch STICK with the cool.blues as close as possible. As for containers its always cool.when somebody does it different then the rest and it.works.out but generally more root space is better Doesn't mean u can't put 5 plant in one 50gallon container rule of thumb I use is 1 gallon per month indoor but start in a 1 gallon.
