hey everybody this will be my third attempt at growing its been a couple of years since ive tried until I came across the BUDS FOR LESS book and now im all in! I also have to thank allot of you guys on this sight {Ive been lurking for about a month} could some one tell me why these leaves on my jock horror seedlings {7 days old today} are purple ? is this ok? my grow box gets pretty hot at times upper 80's so ive been giving them teaspoons of water daily since the soil seems to dry out pretty fast they seem to like this but Im not sure about this purple tint am I doing something wrong or have I just come up on a purple variety of pot?

OG KUSH got very lucky and found one seed in an oz I copped:-P

seems perfectly normal most strains get purple stems and such...nothing to worry about. i have 4 seedlings under 3 26w 6500k right now about 9 days old, they all have this purple tint (nodes even start off purple on one of the plants then goes green) keep us posted i got a 4 bagseed grow. soon as i get a camara ill start posting up!!

no problem bro...you might wanna pick up a few 6500k spectrum bulbs for flowering as they are supposed to be best for that period. they got the 3-pack at lowe's for 8 bucks. once you flower switch back to the warms or a mix! im thinking of putting my 65w soft white (dont know exact spectrum) with 2 daylight 6500k. if this isnt enough for 2-3 plants ill put in 2 more warm ones.

real nice setup bro. i assume you can move your plants down or lights up for when they stretch right? besides that what are you using for reflective material? what are you using for intake/exhaust? and if you know it what is the outside/inside temp of the box :) i am currently in the process of designing my own box i was thinking 24"Lx16"Wx36"H with two intake and one exhaust. give me some insight as i suck at construction :P

yes the lights can be moved for growth.....I have three power strips in there one hanging from the topand two screwed into the sides of the cabinet the cabinet is 2ft wide 3ft tall and only 11 inches deep I will be lst'ing the fuck out of these plants I have one fan on the top left of the box 121 cfm for exhaust and 1 64 cfm for intake on the bottom and 2 passive intakes made of pvc piping aswell, the temps in my bed room range from 75-80 the box is usally 5 degrees higher inside the cab I think I may add a small vornado fan inside in the future I saw one that was for desktops and it oscilates it was very small and powerfull I figure it will bring the the temps even lower......oh and Im using emergency blankets from sears $1.99:-P

uh this is not true. 6500k are OKAY for flowering but they are usually intended for vegging. lower ones like 2500k are for flowering, the light in the blue spectrum. read a lil more bro.

I think I may have been having some ph issues but I just picked an electric ph tester so that should help out some I just moved the best looking plants into 1 gallon grow bags filed with coco peat and perlite 50/50 and moved the smaller really burnt ones into larger styrofoam cups Ill give them some time and love and see what happens......
I added the nutes at day 8 big big big mistake now at day 11

:sad::sad::sad:

foxfarm nutes it was just way to early im gonna love these bitches back into shape I swear!

what a difference a couple days make.........

there all standing and reaching for the lights so there not dead I added a couple of pvc elbows to the intake fans so the air will move around unblocked by the pots the temps are now steady at 78 80 degrees fee;ing good looking much better!

Damn, pH prob, nutes and overwatering? Create each problem one at a time! lol jk

Do you have a fan blowing on them? Where are you taking your temps from?

I only ask because i blow my fan right through my lights/plants.. It helps very much with heat directly on the plant :)

Doing good! Love those babies

sorry bro it was just a mistake i made :/ i looked in the pics and saw lotsa warm type bulbs and wanted to suggest 6500k for vegging not flowering.

besides that id say that your plants are looking good considering that they got burnt still look fairly big at 14 days...keep up the good work

lol I hear ya man ..........
i have 3 fans on this bad boy right now 2 for intake and 1 for exhaust I just added a couple of pvc elbows to vent the cool air upward instead of just hitting the doors the thermometer is directly under the lights taking the temps

I'm thinking of adding another fans just to move even more air around :blsmoke:
