fish bones for calcium

I catch some salmon and steelhead trout occasionally. My plants sometimes get calcium deficiency towards the end of flowering. Can I save my fish spines, cook and wash all the meat off, pulverize and add to soil? Would that supply calcium or would the bones need to degrade first? I planned on baking them on high till they were really dry and then smashing them to a powder with a hammer

I would imagine so. Google it. Some people grew where my garden is for years before I moved here. I've found a lot if things in this soil including pork bones.

One outdoor grower I know buries a whole fish (pike minnow) a foot below his plants..
Just plain water thru the grow.. I would use the water from boiling the fish bones like compost tea..

I placed a whole ripper underneath a plant one year . I didn't boil him or anything ((seemed ok))
