Fish Filter For Hydroponics Setup?

Hi all. It's been a while since I posted and I was going through my stuff and I came across a fish filter that I had when I use to have fish. My question is would it be any use if I used the fish filter to filter the hydroponics system or is it just wasting power?

If it has any pros and cons to using a fish filter besides wasting power when its not of any use please list them.
