Fishing

My best friend and I have a 29' custom welded aluminum landing craft that we run 4 Scotty's on. He's got a key fob he wears around his neck & can control steering with it.
He runs the back two, I run the front two & when a rod hit's we just hand it off to the nearest "guest".
Much easier than trying to teach a newb to run a rigger & then I do "mate" bleeding & boxing the fish.
It's one hell of a fishing partnership - more like Piscatoris poetry in motion.
Only two scottys, 4 rods at all times here.

Only a 20’ custom weld, plus a doghouse. Not enoughh room for 4 downriggers out back.

Tried out the shuttle hawks today for the stacker rods. Didnt really like it, went right back to clipping them on the downrigger line like regular.

After reading this ^^^^^^ it sounds way to much like actual work. I think I'd prefer to fish @Jimmyjonestoo style, just add a 6 pack to my kayak and I'm good

Lol. I sware to god, when we’re on the fish, I’m working like a mofo.

Its all good though.
Yep, I was stripping off jackets & shirts sweating.
But dropping a cool 80 lbs (apiece) of vacuum sealed butt into the freezer for only about 6 hours of "work" is well worth it.

Oh, btw - Mrs. GWN was the only "Guest" aboard & she definitely got to fight more than her share of fish.
Happy but tired lady. : )

My Daughter sent me this pic from an Illinois grocery store.

Less than 4 lbs for $71.00.
Are you fucking kidding me? I've got a couple of grand's that love the stuff & with my connections I can send around 60 lbs of the stuff overnight FedEx for about the same amount.
THIS is why I'm seeing a move toward people getting Medicinal Halibut Licenses

Costco meat is overpriced imo. Except their ribs. Holy shit! Their dry rub marinated ribs are the bomb. All their other meet isnt really a good deal including seafood.

Our federal subsistence permits allow us to take 25 fish per person, per day.

Did I ever tell you folks about shark fishing from my kayak, it seemed like a good idea until I caught one, it was about a 6' black tip and I get it to the yak .....ok now what.

I ain't real smart.
Easy peasy ...hang ten off front of kayak for better center of gravity, good luck bongsmilie
