Fixing My Plants Lengthiness Help or Ideas

Hey Ive been growing my plant outdoors and right now its kinda of tall and skinny(Pics below) and I was going to fix this problem by buring part of the the stem in no nute potting soil. Right now the plant is in a pot buried in the ground and there is 4 inches left between the top of the pot and the soil in it. Also if i bury it I plan on snipping of a small dying set of fan leaves. Just wondering anyone's idea's on how well this will work.

i would transplant now and bury that thing down. also look into giving it some more nutrients, more light, etc.

you can kill it by burying it.it will rot the stem out.your best bet would be to bring it inside for a couple weeks and just pile tons of light on her.cfls would do it.about 3-4 of them and she will bush out.

that is a typical healthy looking outdoor plant...give her another month, and youll have trouble bending it without breaking her...

tanks evryone for the help. looks like i wont be doing that and i would not want the stem to rot. I cant bring it in more than a couple days a month due to the fact of my family and they dont know. its a little bit past a month old maybe one and a half

it can rot the stem but it can work i just dont advise it.I wouldnt chance my plants.Ive been an arborist for years and I know what it can do to trees.I figure the same would go for plants.
