If it wasn't apparent I'm pissed. Lol. I can not seem to keep a god damn airstone for more than 1 res change. Every fucking time I pull it off the line the valve stays and the stone goes. Do they make fuckin lifetime bubble stones or something? I literally took a razor to slit the hose grabbe the vavle with pliers and turned the hose not pulled and STILL that mother fucker broke. I'm literally about to tear this whole fuckin room down and give up. Fuckin nickel and diming me to death. Does anyone know if these lifetime airsrtones exist? If not I'm inventing one. FUCK! After the rant I still don't feel better. Think I just pissed myself off more

Hmm I got enough pumps but THAT airstone is the exact one the just beoke on me. The only ones that haven't broke ore the strips like walmart sales but they suck ass and don't make many bubbles. Imma put my thinkin cap on and settle this shit for anyone with this problem. This should really be the least of my worries so I'm a little pissed that my grow is somewhat hangin on the hope of a flimsy ass stone. Hard to get even bubble coverage in the cloner with no diffusion. Sigh. Thank u for the link though. Found some good shit in there!

Fuckin tits simpsonsampson. If I could +rep u I would I'm about to order six BUT how did it do with ur water temp? I am thinkin two per res but that with a pump for water alltogether seems like I'd need a water cooler

Yea but hydro you have to learn way more IMO like all the levels and keeping the res and stuff i dont know about cause i havent learned. Soil i can germ, plop in good soil i bought and water. pretty much it.

Im sure hydro is a bit quicker but im patient. Now if it yielded more then i would hop on that train.

And I do agree. I am a 30+ year soil grower. Went to hydro this grow and have been walkin with a hard on since lol but the nickel andime shit accessories are starting to get to me. That's not to say I didn't enjoy soil but this is the best for ease convinience and growth I mean sure no one likes res changes but I would rather change an 80 pound res once a week then hand watering lifting re arranging. Ever 1-4 days. Best for gimps like myself. I am just pissed off and had to vent. Seriously tho I am gonna find or make something to end this idiotic problem. **please** let's not make this a soil vs hydro thread.

I get 12 inch airstones at Meijers for $3 and they are great. I've never had a valve come off, but have you tried disconnection the tubes from the other end and leaving them attached to the stones?

dude just use a razor to slice lengthwise down your tubing that is connected to the airstone nozzle, then it just pulls right off

The best airstones I've come across so far are the flexible tube ones, their nipple comes off but it's nothing a little super glue and electrical tape doesn't permanently fix. They don't float like the stupid aquarium ones you get at wal-mart or petco, these have some weight to them.

I was about to come in and post this very thing product!! it is the shit. I will never go back to those cheap aquarium airstones again.

Go ahead and plus rep me. Although I would not buy from this web site. They are some kind of drop ship website and they send their orders to other parties and they send you damaged and returned items.

That looks pretty sweet. Ive actually wondered about just poking a bunch of small holes in regular hose and then fastening the hose to the bottom of my dwc bucket as an alternative to using an airstone. I think it would work if there were enough holes and it was wrapped around the bucket in concentric circles starting in the middle with the smallest circle and getting bigger as it moved to the outside of the bucket...If you know what im trying to say haha

I made my own air stones; I got the idea from another member on this board, and I can't remember who it was.

2 or 3 feet of 3/4 inch vinyl tubing.

1 --- 3/4 inch male to male adapter

2 ---3/16 inch brass fittings

1 small bag of aquarium gravel

All this stuff can be purchased at Dummy Depot or Shmoes.

Cut the tubing to about 2 1/2 feet; longer or shorter depending upon your application and fill the tubing with gravel. Connect the two ends together with the 3/4 inch male to male fitting. You should now have a round piece of tubing filled with aquarium gravel. Put a sewing needle in a pair of vise grips and heat it up; a candle works well. Make small holes along the top circumference of the tubing; I spaced them at 1/16 inch apart. I drilled a small hole in the tubing to insert the 3/16 inch brass tubing adapters.

Now, you can connect your air pump to the two 3/16 inch tubing adapters via air tubing. Turn the pump on and place it in water.

These never break, they never break, and they never break.

Again, thanks to the member who gave me the idea and the pictures. Best ten bucks I've spent in a while.
