Flavor under led

I have been bumming around here a while. I used to grow with Chinese panels in my area. I was growing for myself after a 20 plus year hiatus. Worked well. 4 180 w actual. But the taste wasn't quite right. After this run with vero 29's the flavor is normal. The high is better as well. Same soil, clones some seed. Or am I just high on SSH? And yes I am.bongsmilie

One of my friends was commenting on how he did not think the buds had the same density as what he was getting under HPS, but I don't think a denser bud equates to better quality. If you think about it, the leaf is not actually what you are going for, you are aiming to maximize the trichomes. If the bud gets to dense I think it will actually inhibit the trichome development, the bud might a bit heavier, but it will be inferior when it comes to the taste and the medicinal value. The increased leaf, plant matter, will actually just be a detrimental to the over all quality of the product, it wont taste as good, and it wont burn as well, it would be harder to make extract out of. Aiming for a more perlite consistency, less sand stone :)

Is that with the same strain under HPS and LED because I have noted the opposite?

No, different strains, different growing styles, its not a perfect comparison. But I would still argue that at a certain point density will become counter productive.

I think a lot of people are growing for straight up yield, and bud porn feel and I think all to often that does not equate to the best quality medicine.

I have Sourd and SLH finishing. The early SSH is kicking my behind. I can't wait to compare those. It was well worth the money and effort to build these. So much good info here.
