Hi guys,

Can anyone help me out with this problem..

I've been growing with soil for a while now and decided to purchase a nice 16 pod flood and drain system, but I still need to figure out some details I hope you could help me with..

How often do you flood the system with those pebbles and in what intervals??
This question may sound stupid, but it's bothering me.. Do I need to change the whole res. every week to start with new nutes? or do I just add the next weeks solution given on my bottles and adjust the PH? cause I'd figure the ppm of the reservoir will be very high right?

Thinking about doing a perpetual 3 week system.

Please anyone, thanks!

Hey Black, That looks like a pretty sick system and should get you some awesome results  I would recommend flooding 4 times a day, I had a system that flooded 4 times during lights on and 1 time in the middle of the night (probably didnt have to do the night flooding, but i wanted to make sure the roots did not dry up). you should be good with changing your res about every week and a half. You will notice your water dropping after about 3-4 days and at that time i just added regular PH water back to the res and at the week and a half mark i would drain the res and rinse it out before adding new solution water. be careful with your PPM's being too high you will get burning real fast with hydro. Make sure to add an air stone to the water and your plants will be happy. GL

i clean and change my resi every week..be sure when you clean it to check for mold caused by water leak issues and high humidity levels..especially if your resivoir is not filled to the very top...im on my second hydro grow right now with ebb and flow and i ran into that problem just bought new hoses and cleaned the hell outta my resi and pump and im good... but i use a tray and not buckets..but i also recently put a mother into a 5 gallon dwc setup and i gotta say that dwc is simple and amazingly fast growth...i got clones out the ass now:bigjoint:haha

good luck podnah

I use the exact same system though mine is the detatchapod version and is only a four podder and I flood for two minutes every three hours, but seeing as yours is a sixteen podder it will take longer due to the extra tubing runs that link each pod.You should still be flooding every three hours even when lights are off and the Res only needs changing every fortnight which in turn will use less PH up or down.
You have a great system there my friend which probably has the fastest flood and drain operation on the market so you should always get fast excellent results.......I know I do!
