Flood and Drain

I've been thinking about using flood and drain for my veg/mother setup, used to do 2 bucket aero but im sick of the leaks.

I plan on using;

- 2x4 botanicare tray
- 20 gal res(or should i go bigger)
- 4x4 cubes or take the clones from the 1.5inch cubes and place them in a 4x4 square pot with hydroton. What do you guys think?
- How often should i flood each method?
- I have some spare 396gph pump, should that be enough?
- Going to use T5 4ft, 8 lamps over the table

Any tips? pointers? I am open to all advice. Never messed with flood and drain before.

go with just hydroton..flood 8x5mins for veg an 4x15mins in flower. build ure own stand n make sure back supports are taller then front so its on angle for best drainage. these were tips that i was told, as i still havent got my trays running yet. sounds like everything else is fine.good luck

Your res size is fine for your table, but you'll be filling with water probably twice per week due to evaporation and usage.
I found 4x4x4 to be too small for any decent size plant. I prefer the 6" cubes and flood every 12 hours. Your pump is more than adequate.
