Florecent with HPW

Is it a good idea to combine my 4, 40w 4 foot florescent tubes with a 400w HPS?. I was thinking that i could cover more of a spectrum and add more light this way using cool blue florescent tubes. Or will this disturb the plants?

I obviously meant HPS in the thread title and have no idea how to change it.

I'm really not sure what the kelvin temp is but its supposed to be daylight temp but i believe its a bit cooler than daylight. Also they aren't the T5 High output they are normal 40w 4ft tubes with home depot grow lights on them.

I have them lying around and figured why let some extra wattage go to waste

Ahhh the t12's, the ballasts should be able to run t8 bulbs too.

T8 are twice as effiecient, and only $7 for two bulbs, if you do upgrade the light bulb try to get 6500k ones.

although 5000k ones will work too.
