I'm using cfls for flowering. But want to add a cheep floro fixture. Are T5s the only thing I should use. Or can I use any floro fixture and what would be the min wattage. Can I use a T12 (I think) I want to put it above the plant and the cfls on the sides. Thanks. Would 45w be ok ? I'm in my 7th day of flowering. See a lot of spikes. But those aren't the sex are they? Only 1 plant

You could use a T-12 if you already have it, but the T-5 is the newer technology, and more desireable than a T-12.

What about wattage. Whats the min. ? And I hear there are flowering lights I need to use. What kind of T5 bulbs (lights) are for flowering?

Not sure about the bulbs, but as for your spike.....sorry not yet my friend. You will defintely be able to tell the sex, so don't even worry yet. With the female you will see the white hairs (pistils). It may even start out as 1 or 2, but I say you might even have to wait 2 weeks. Good luck!

Don't use floros for flowering. They produce light airy buds. You will be disappointed with the results. HID's reproduce better then any other light what natural sunlight provides. That is what will give you the nice tight thc laden buds you want.
