If you've ever used a Brita filter, you know how unbelievably slow they are. If I had to filter 550 litres of water through a Brita each time I changed up my tanks, I'd have to start 2 weeks before I needed it, kid you not.

In more than 20 years of doing this, I have never have seen a problem in an op caused by municipal drinking water. The only time I've ever seen water quality cause problems in a hydroponic op was when the water came from a bore with a lot of dissolved minerals.

Well, i guess that answered my questions about using tap water for flushing... btw, a couple hours after i flushed the leaves returned to normal... +Rep Al B.

How much is overpaying? I bought mine for $245. Got a 400w hps with a silver bat wing and a separate ballast that is "plug and play" style plus the little parts I needed to connect it all. Took me 20 minutes tops.:joint:

he paid $375.. the guy sold him on the "enhanced spectrum" bulb.... he didnt do any research.. just went in the store and asked

I see. What do you think of the price I paid? It came with a waranty and the bulb is made by GE.

well i know this.. i started my grow with CFLs because i didnt want to shell out the $$ for a HID.. but i got mine for free so i say u paid too much! LOL!!

there are better deals tho bro.. u could have gotten 2 400w Hps for that price.. but i guess if it has a w a r r a n t y.... =)

yeah thats true.. and ive been told by a couple people that those units from htgsupply are cheap because they are imports that are not very good.. i like your reflector alot better... a reflector costs $125 -200 itself! i was just lookin to upgrade mine to an enclosed one.. costs just as much as a whole set up!
