T8's are a thing of the past...

54 Watt T5 HO fixtures rule for this I have a buddy that uses a 8 bulb all 6500K fixture ,
and his plants grow as fast as my 1000 W MH (and his grow MUCH fuller than mine).

I am a FIRM believer. These things are the shit for Veg. You can get a 6 bulb fixture
totaling 30,000 Lumens. You can put any combination of 6500 , 3500 or 2700 K Bulbs in it as well
I don't know why people keep saying that T5's are better than T8's and T8's are better than T12's.

The "T" number or the T-rating indicates the diameter of the fluorescent lamp. The T-rating of fluorescent lamps are described in increments of 1/8 of an inch. So a T8 fluorescent lamp is 8/8, or one inch in diameter and a T12 lamp is 12/8 or 1-1/2 inches in diameter. The only added benefit of the smaller tubes is that you can fit more bulbs per square foot.

Daylight (5500K) nothing else

Best results are 5000K and 3000K mixed up...I use a ratio of 3 5000K:1 3000K...it mimics the suns spectrum as closley as possible. The better you have to the suns spectrum the better your plants will grow. During the flowering cycle using that spectrum mix will produce 20-30% more trich production...and that equals more potent bud, but with a sacrifice of a smaller yield. HID users overcome that dillema by using both MH and HPS through the entire grow.
