ok I've been looking for a green light for the grow room to be able to go in there when the lights are off I found a few bulbs and had a few Ideas as what to use but.....which one will work guaranteed? would a green party bulb be sufficient or is that not a real green light spectrum? I've found a 2 ft t4 green floro bulb but does not come with a fixture ... any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Hi,

From what I understand trichome production happens in the absence of light. Although the bulb may be green and not give off the colors of the light spectrum it still gives off light.

I would recommend keeping it dark during those times.
If you wish to work on your grow during the day then you can always set your cycle time to off at nights.

No, I havent used a green light and do not know of anyone who has successfully.

i know that it works because the plants dont absorb green light spectrum but it also has to be the right kind... I have to go in there at all times not just at night so I am in dire need of this green light...someone?

I've read about it, and it's use. I've also read that you could leave the lights on int he middle of a cycle for up to 15 minutes. I have no idea if this is true, but it does make sense to be able to leave the light on for a limited amout of time before the plants can sense this.
The best thing to do would be to change the light cycle so that the lights are on when you'd like to mess around in the grow room.

Wal Mart Green Party Bulb will work fine. The Plants can not detect the color green, so it is like dark period when the green light is on.

I used 4 green lights in my flower room to work in the "dark".

so you have used them ? the party bulbs and to no ill effect? nice thanks for the info thats what I'll do. I was worried about the lights being cheap and bleeding white light through... you had no hermies?

I use a party light, no ill effects. I put it as far away from my plants as possible just in case. Plants flower even under the moon. Total Darkness is not possible in nature
