HPS is 450w with a batwing reflector

HPS all the way until you get up to
a 1,000watt led, your power bill will suffer but after a few decent grows then I’d go hard on led’s to save some money in the long run if you continue growing.

Blurple lights like vipar are similar to hps in efficiency so if power draw = 276w then that would be the equivalent of a 276w hps more or less so Id definitively go with 450w hps If I was you.. but you could look at other more efficient LED.. whats your tent size?

2X2 tent. Personaly i wouldnt run a 400 in a 2x2. Thats only 4 sq feet. 400 is for 3x3 to 4x4 thats 9 to 16 sq feet. A 1000w can be squeezes in a 4x4 tent.. Barley and thats 62.5w per sq ft.
Good luck with 100w sq ft in a 5 ft high tent

A 400 is not much good for over a 3x3 or 9 sq. ft. for flower a 400 just doesn't have the penetration to achieve flower density past 18". Want to see how close you can run a 400 hps with good ventilation.
