Flowering a clone after 2 weeks.

Just as the title says. I will be receiving a clone and will put it in my bubbleponics setup. After 2 weeks of 24/0 lighting hopefully there will be a nice healthy root system so I can begin to start flowering. Now I been up all night doing my "homework" and I still need a few questions answered. I'm still somewhat new to this so be gentle. bongsmilie

1. How long will it take my clone to start budding after 12/12 is introduced?

2. Is Sea of Green(SoG) worth it?

3. When is it a proper time to start cloning?

4. Is using bubbleponics faster than using an AG(Aerogarden)?

5. Also I heard of someone flowering at 4 nodes. Is it possible? If so is it worth it for like a super small grow?

1)it will take in between 24hrs and 2 wks depending on the maturity, probably starting within the first week since it is a clone.
2)sog uses lots of clones, not just one clone, and yes it could be well worth it.
3)clone when you top or trim branches during the vegetative phase. it is good to clone at least a week before you plan on the flowering phase beginning.
4)I imaging AG and bubbleponic cloning would be about the same time, but an AG cloner seems easier to construct. both methods seem better than rockwool, which is all I have used.
5)if you do 12/12 from seed it depends on the genes when they will flower but 4-6 nodes sounds about right for a minimum veg phase.

Thanks bro I really appreciate the the quick feedback. I can't wait to start this up.bongsmilie

Ok I have 2 more questions.

1. I have a few plants that have 4 - 6 nodes could I flower right now if i wanted to?

2. Will flowering early decrease the potency of the bud?

if you have a healthy rooting system, you should be able to go 12/12 with no problems. i have some girls i just put into flower that were only about 3-4 inches tall and they've already doubled in size.

i don't think flowering early affects potency at all, just yield.

Thanks for the help. Once I get my bubbleponics system up and running I'll start a journal on here. :peace:

for all the great info on this site i'm suprized that every time i see someone ask about sog or scrog folks give nothing but unsubstantiated opinion.

i'm not saying anyone's wrong, there's not really a right and wrong in telling a man which technique will serve him best. i'm just asking that folks give a reason to support their claim.

here's the thing, sog is intended to be implemented as a perpetual grow technique that you can't fully utilized unless you have all the propagation equipment and intend on rushing one crop through after another.

i'm no expert but i'd say read for yourself and you'll probably agree. if you're doing a single crop grow and have decent space don't waste your time with sog. other training/pruning/grow styles may work out better for you. if you have limited space and want to grow continuously, sog is what you want.

Sorry if I made it seem like im just using one plant for SoG, but I have 4 plants atm that are going into flowering in 2 1/2 hrs. Once those 4 plants get to where I want them I'll clone them and get the other clone from my friend I will throw them in my bubbleponics system and make a journal. I'm starting off small because the lack of room and the fact that this is my first time.

Hiya Teklo, found this thread after just seeing you'd posted a question in mine. Sorry I didn't see it sooner! :)

These are "must reads".... the first two links are for the Stealth Bubbleponics specfically, and the third one is the most foolproof topping technique I've seen (I've done it several times and won't do it any other way).

(Two separate posts, but there's a lot of info in this thread for the BP, which is a "summary" of much of Roseman's original BP thread which is linked in there.)

RE: lack of room, that's not an issue with the BP! (Unless you're referring to height.) I just switched to flower on Monday, and I've got four large 'n' happy plants in there.

BTW, cloning in the BP was a breeze! I now prefer cloning in there as opposed to the AeroGarden; I'm only still using the AG for clones until my next Stealth DWC unit arrives. Then I'll most likely give away my AG, unless my hubby wants to use it to start seedlings for his outdoor (non-MJ, lol) gardening. I'll be sticking with the Stealth units from now on, and/or building my own like them.

If there's anything I can help with, I definitely will. And I do not give advice on anything I'm not 100% sure about; if I don't know, I'll say I don't know and try to point you in a good direction if I'm aware of one.

ANYHOOO, lemme know when you start your journal! :hump:
