Flowering an Auto on 24 light

Has anyone had any luck flowering an auto on 24 light? Reason I need to do this would be I live in northern Canada. Middle of winter it gets extremely cold so this would help. Instead of using energy to heat my space I would use heat off lights.

Any input would be great.

I ran 24 hours a day for years with every auto strain. Grown over a thousand autos on 24/7 over the last 10 years.

If your genetics are shit, they may not all flower and some will swing towards being photoperiod, but that won't be the light schedule, It will be unstable genetics and incompetent pollen chuckers that call themselves a breeder.

I do it every winter in the UK coz it's cold here too.

Auto advantage running 20/4 or 24/0 ......

This longer light cycle buffers the short veg cycle already hardwired into an auto ..... it helps compensate and makes it root much better because of it. You will find rootmass larger and auto structure more hardened for flower. Also , a tip : if you are running known heavy leaning Sativa autos ( like HSO BD or similar ) run them under 20/4 or 24/0 all the way thru. They will stack like nobody’s business.

I like my lights to rest tho ... so 18/6 and 20/4 works for me.

From what I've read previously 18/6 is ideal while flowering Autos as the sleep cycle helps raise the THC potency. I'm a first timer though so don't take my word for it!

But Mephisto(one of if not THE top auto breeder at the moment) uses 24 hours of light. How can this be...

I had an F7 hermie on me, babied it the whole grow too and the only thing I can think of is because I ran it 24/7. Will be running the same strain but at either 18/6 or 20/4 to see if it makes a difference.

Either bad genetics or you stressed it too much with heat, nutes and cutting experiments. Mephisto runs their plants at 24/0. Hermies can happen, but 24/0 is a common practice. 1 plant gone hermie under 24/0 won't be solved by 1 grow with less than 24/0.
