Flowering Dilemma

I'm a relatively new grower, and need advice on a problem that I hope I don't run into again.
For reasons that don't matter now, I ended up with two different strains in my current crop. I am growing indoors in a relatively small space (35 square feet). I have 12 plants vegetating. 6 are Purple Kush, and 6 are Blueberry. The Purples are nice and bushy, and sitting at 6-8 inches each. The Blueberrys are healthy as well, and sitting at 12-13 inches each.
I'm thinking that I would like the Purples to gain at least 3-4 more inches before I induce flowering, but I don't want to end up with Blueberrys that are too tall.
I only have the one room- letting the Kush veg seperately is not an option for me. Any experienced growers have any advice about how they would handle this?
Thank you in advance!

Induce flowering on your schedule. If some plants are shorter, raise them to the light, to make all plant tops at same level for ripening.
