Ok now not too sure if this is just a late bloomers or just normal. 5 Days ago I switched my plants to 12/12 with a 400w HPS. I was doing my veg also with a 400w HPS. Now 5 days have gone by and still no sex. Is this normal? Now let''s just say hypothetically that it will take 2 weeks to show signs of sex does that now mean my BB that require 8-9 weeks of flowering to start the week 1 after the signs show or right from the day that the lights got switched to 12/12?? I am just worried that my flowers will take longer cause it's still not showing anything. Help Please.. :)

and as far as how long flowering is for that strain...they "estimate" 8-9 weeks.. but it depends on the plant itself...it may take less time or more time..but you will know its ready when most of the trichs turn an amber color...and the calyx swell...so just watch the plants every day and you will know when they are done

they count the day that the pistils emerge as day one of flowering.
is an estimated 8-9 weeks after that, depending on phenotype.

I don't know if this is true. Eery time I have grown I counted the light change as the first day, and my stuff always ripens on time.

id be willing to bet that the plants are unfinished too. plants usually take longer to ripen to proper potency as the suggested strain time from seed companies is under "optimum" conditions. Over 85% of growers on this website and myself included do not have the ability to give so for one reason or another.

and research into it a bit. i sure of what im saying. first day of flowering is the day you see FLOWER pistils. otherwise can you tell me how to tell the day the sun changed to 12/12 outside? The answer is no because the sunlight is only on 12/12 for one day and thats only if you live in the right area, otherwise it will never be exact because of the earths rotation. we use this time as a general rule because cannabis has been studied and been proven to peak at highest potency levels and the least light problems at this light setting.
