Flowering Question

Obviously I'm growing outdoors. I know that the plant needs 12/12 sunlight to begin flowering. I would like to induce flowering before the days get that short. So, can i like cover the plants for a few days to give them 12/12 and just let them rock on or do they have to stay at a constant 12/12 to flower properly?

yes they should get 12 hours of light, and 12 of dark... you can't leave them in the dark for 24 hours.... they are still live plants, they need sunlight

i dont mean completely cover... i mean 12 on exactly...

lots of people flower outside in march-may 1st because the suns cycle is still around 12/12, depending how far south you are it could be well into may. after that your plants will veg.

I have never heard of anybody flowering in March-May unless you live in Australia. I think you are talking out your but.

ya man, it gets cold quick up where i live, so i have to induce flowering earlier, i personally just put a big ass tarp over mine, but you gutta make sure theres no light getting in

I hate to say it again but yes you are.

i dont like argue, specially not with kids, but have you ever heard of the spring equinox? spring flowering can easily be done with the right timing. like i said the 61 days from March 1st - May 1st is the time, if you can keep from freezing.

Exactly who in there right mind put there plants outside with a good chance of a freezing. Thats why I think your talking out your butt

if you vegitate 24 hours under lights until ready to flower, shut off the lights for 24 hours, then put them outdoors, they will flower where I live from March thru October. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

either way its almost may, just take a black tarp,requiring you to time it yourself, make sure there are no light leaks, 12 hours of dark 12 hours of light, maybe time the 12 hours of darkness for the afternoon evening time.

Ok first you say I know lots of people who do it. Then you said you do it. Now your are saying people do it when they have know more room. See the pattern, you are coming to the realization that ppl dont do that. So why would you make such a statement.
